A 3/10 over that? Geez

Yeah. I expected a game that was more in line with the rest of the series. This one was more like World of Tanks. Even the Riddler missions were heavily affected by it. Finishing racetracks in a set amount of time has to do with riddles?

Most of the side missions in this game were rather poor as well. Find and destroy 20 bombs (tank battle ensues with each one). Find 20 something towers. 20 something mercenary compounds.

Yeah, they turned Hush into a joke and his side quest was seriously bad (If you can call it a side quest). We should have gotten this with him:

Yeah. Many of the villains in the side quests felt...I dunno...anti-climactic. I think Asylum and City did it right. Easily some of the best games I have ever played.

I expected a Batman game with a Batmobile in it.

That's what I got.

But I also think the other aspects of the Arkham series are done better in other games, and I thought Origins was a snorefest (I fell asleep during Firefly). So I was cool with it.

What do finding random ass trophies scattered everywhere have to do with Riddles. Sure some are hidden behind some puzzles, but there's also alot out in the open.

Same with the breakable objects.

Hell, I haven't even played the game and I'm giving it a 2/10 simply because Scarecrow got shafted just like in Batman Begins.

His biography (in the game) says he is immune to fear (due to his toxin - which is even more of an issue since he's surrounded by the airborne version), Batman is somehow immune to his toxin, and yet Scarecrow (by nature of being the villain) is defeated by being affected by his toxin. The sins video points out the rest of the issues with his plan.

That doesn't even go into the whole Arkham Knight debacle, but again that's dealt with sufficiently elsewhere.

The villains were anti-climatic throughout all of the Arkham games. It was just easier to overlook it with Asylum because it was the best Batman game ever...

That's actually been my gripe with all of the Riddler's challenges post Asylum. In Asylum they were actually riddles, but with City/Origins/Knight they became mini-puzzles/annoyances.

I didn't even bother trying to collect all of them in City/Origins.

Weren't they Security Cameras or something?

They had those as well as the similar type of challenges that were in City.

The cameras just "unlocked" the challenges in the zone.

I expected a batman game with the batmobile in it too. What I got was a tank game where you sometime get cutscenes with batman in between.

At least they had puzzles. Winning at driving a car really fast and timing jumps is a different thing.

Even I'll admit Scarecrow was pretty badly utilized.

It should've been The Court of Owls tbh.

But that also would require remaking the three other games and putting in a **** load of owl statues.

Because they were behind everything.

Hopefully they use Court of Owl in the new DC movie verse. They're something new and exciting.

I think the Batman Games have run their course. It's time for a quality JL, Flash or Green Lantern game.

Scarcrow was another bad Hugo Strange, sitting in his tower waiting to unleash his doomsday device.

Also did anyone else realize the flawed logic in using drone tanks against Batman? Arkham Knight knows he doesn't kill.

So the smart idea was obviously to send unmanned tanks against Batman!

EVERYONE knows Batman doesn't kill.

The best solution for any Batman villain (or any villain that fights him) would be to put Batman in a situation where it would be extremely difficult to not kill anyone. Of course, seeing as Batman is likely killing people in the game with certain finishing moves I think it's a moot point.

How do drone tanks even work anyways? They're on the ground, there are a ton of them, and they're large. Where did Scarecrow and the Arkham Knight find enough criminals willing to simulate a video game to control all of those tanks?

But didn't you know? A broken neck and ribs are fine. So long as they are still breathing (barely), Batman didn't do anything wrong.

The series makes up over the top technology all the time so if they decided to include manned tanks, Rocksteady would have just made some tech that magically makes the enemy in the tanks unconscious like an electric shock beam or something.

I'm actually glad the tanks were unmanned because we get to blow them up and get rid of them. I would hate for the tanks to be standing around the city with unconscious people in them. The only reason they're unmanned and blow up are for gameplay sake.

I rented Batman: Arkham Knight and am glad that I did so, because the ending is something I'll only see once due to having to get 100% completion to see it (which included the Riddler trophies much to my dismay). This game did a few things right, but I feel that Arkham City was the better game in the end. I really disliked most of the boss fights, the only ones I liked were Two-Face and Penguin, I would have liked the final Arkham Knight fight if not for the cheap death traps.

As I said to Clones, I feel like Rocksteady wanted to make a movie at times, things that would have worked in a movie did not work well in the game

Spoiler

The Batmobile gameplay was fun when it was regulated to battles, but when it involved racing or maneuvering; no. I was really disappointed with how the combat for

were handled in particular. Those fights could have been so special. Also, Rocksteady missed out on having The Creeper in the game and they had one hell of an opportunity

As for the Arkham Knight's Identity:

Spoiler

For that matter, how the hell did the Arkham Knight come up with enough money for an army and the drones? I think one of the tapes had him discussing with Scarecrow that he needed $2 Billion, but there is no way that Scarecrow could have came up with all of that money ahead of the events in this game. On another note: There is no way in hell that $2 Billion would have been enough for all those drones and to train an army.

I also disliked the ending because it was plothole galore.

Spoiler

As for what happened at the end of the game, I'd speculate that

Spoiler

You know what else really bugs me? Batman could have got out of the predicament at the end

Spoiler

In short, they should have kept Paul Dini and I'm glad I spent $7 renting it for 5 nights instead of the $30 I could have bought it for on Ebay because I cannot be bothered to go and collect all the Riddler things a second time. It took me 12 hours to collect all of the trophies and probably 8-10 to beat the main story, that's not right.

I'm pretty sure that after you knocked out these shield-bearers in City, by slamming their own shield into their throats, they weren't breathing anymore.

And doesn't Batman just shoot Batmobile's gun into people in Arkham Knight? I mean, there was some bullshit about them only stunning those bad guys, but there were Batmobile assisted finishing moves, where those shot guys are slammed into walls by those bullets.

Sorry, but those scumbags are dead.

It feels like even more of a story vs. gameplay dissonance, than in Tomb Raider (2013) where Lara is a frightened girl in cutscenes, and a tornado of death and destruction in gameplay sections.

Rubber bullets never kill, bruh! /s

It could've been this Batmobile, if Rocksteady wanted to go all out.

Lex Luthor funded the operation. I forget where that's said. But that's how it goes.

It's a shame you didn't like the game that much Vroom. I personally enjoyed it in spite of its flaws and look forward to the upcoming content.

I thought that Scarecrow had the other villains pitch in for the funding, the weird thing is how exactly did the Arkham Knight gain the loyalty of his mercenaries? It seemed like they already knew him as their commander.

Perhaps fear, like with Scarecrow. Or money.

Speaking of fear...
