How's Origins?

 

I thought it had a more fun story than Arkham City. Probably not a popular opinion, but I just didn't enjoy Arkham City's story that much.

How's Origins?

I like it, for the most part. I'm almost done with the story, I just need to do the last mission. Overall, it feels like they made the area twice as large as City, but with half the side quests. I still have a couple side quests to do along with the challenge maps. I'm saving online multiplayer for last.

Oh, I also got the Cold, Cold Heart DLC, so I'm looking forward to fighting Mr. Freeze. I hear it's much better than the Harley Quinn DLC for City, which my brother got and ended up being much shorter than I expected.

Origins was a bunch of poo-poo pancakes that I did not even bother to finish. It doesn't help that I actually had serious trouble getting to play the actual game, because the DRM sign-in management bullocks of Warner was about as sturdy as a house made out of plasticine.

Nah, seriously, Troy Baker is a bit full of himself sometimes.

What I don't like is when he takes precedence over something he has no say in -- Trashing the original voice over cast of SH2, when his melodramatic over-acting didn't fit the character, James Sunderland at all as opposed to Guy Cici.. As the documentary for The Last of Us has established, he has an ego that is unbearable sometimes and when he projects it in interviews he can be quite annoying. Especially in the one in regards to Metal Gear, where he calls out on fans for being displeased at Hayter being replaced by a Hollywood actor, and it just reeks of self-congratulating complacency as he subtlety tries to steer all attention towards him.

 

 

It doesn't change the fact that he's a good voice actor and most of his roles are excellent but man can he be a bit of a twerp.

I think got to the part where Black Mask turned out to be [REDACTED] then Bane shows up and basically declares himself the main villain, and that's where I stopped caring I think.

Wait, he criticizes fans for NOT liking the Hayter replacement? What a noob. Doesn't he know that Hayter as Snake is god-tier and it can't be topped?

He claims that people should reserve judgement until they play the game, but I don't know about him, but all what I heard in Ground Zeroes didn't speak any wonders about Kiefer Sutherland's performance. Then you have the following, which I think was from an interview with that twerp, Greg Miller, who used to work for IGN. "They did the mocap over in Japan and we did the facial everything here, which is super super hard. And I keep coming back to this, but I really applaud Kiefer for what he did, cause he came in and… if you watched his speech for the Game Awards… I wanted to stand up and applaud the guy, because the way he came out, the heart that he came out with which was very contrite and gracious to all the fans and there was like this understanding underneath that’s like: look, I get it, you don’t want me to be Snake. That’s fine. Neither did I. But let me tell you what made me fall in love with it, and how I told my other friends about how important and what this story means to the world, and to entertainment period. I was like: good on you man, because they put him trough the ****** wringer, man.” -- The bolded part is basically just Baker talking out of his arse, and it is not anything that can be quoted by Kiefer, but rather Baker's wild imagitive ways of interpreting a man's words to fit his own -- it implies that he's trying to score some points with Kiefer to boost his own ego, because that's what Hollywood do. They blow off big budgets of money so they can go around half-heartedly padding each other on the shoulder. It's what Kojima has been doing lately, with Avi Avrad, who couldn't care less about Metal Gear (as a game) only on the profits that it may bring him in -- in fact Kojima actually asked an anomaly like Avrad, who he thought should be the voice of Snake, which flabbergasted me.

There's no paid respects for the man who's been the voice of Snake since the beginning, the same man who spend a part of his salary on bringing the entire original cast back for the Metal Gear remake on the Gamecube, the one who actually, legitimately, cares about his work and for Metal Gear -- he's just left in the dirt, much like Guy Cici and that's why I loathe what Baker said and why I loathe the overall decision. I loathe that no one has even done the courtesy of mentioning him or give credit where it is due. It is so disrespectful

Anyway, this whole thing isn't really 'new', as Baker's demeanor is usually always like this in public interviews. Sometimes he refrains from being like that though. Heck, when he was asked why he wasn't reprising Kanji Tatsumi in the Persona spin-offs, his answer was pretty much deflecting from actually answering the question.. or maybe he didn't understand the question. Anyway, I think his ego has gone to his head, which is a shame because I actually like what he does most of the time.

I have no strong feelings about Hayter one way or the other but after reading Chris' post I can't believe they'd dump him like after everything he has done and especially for a Hollywood scrub like Sutherland.

Harley Quinn DLC? Hmm, would have preferred Bat-girl or even Catwoman again over playing as Quinn. Don't particularly like Tara Strong as Quinn.
