Can't stay to chat, but I checked David Gaider's tumblr this morning and saw that visual development artist Andy Bennet has drawn the companions for each of the Dragon Age games, including Inquisition.

 

I don't know if they're actually our companions or not, judging from the look of them they they've all been featured in concept art. Either way everyone should check out the blog. The images have me speculating again.

Awesomesauce in what I'm seeing personally. I'm so gonna be happy if it is legetimate. 

 

All the female and male characters look very cool and interesting.

One of the men better be hot... At this point looks like only Cullen (or whoever the guy on the left is) might be good looking.

 

Lineup definitely needs another woman.

 

Alright I'm going a little bit crazy. Can we PLEASE have something other than fanmade concept art to go off of?? Bioware? HELLO? Throw me a bone?

I don't know, I think it would only be unfair if there were an uneven number of love interests. As long as each character is interesting I don't really care if there's more men than women or vice versa. It would be unusual though since previous games have kept it pretty even.

 It would be unfair regardless of romance status, as women would be a tad underrepresented in a 3:9 ratio. Considering that the other games had a somewhat even representation of both sexes, I don't see why they would start being unfair now.

Looks great, but it could really do with some more women in there; and what is that weird trident weapon? It looks like a hat-stand.

 

Also, dude with the bird is just making me want a bird companion even more. Can I have a Falconer class?

Yeah I really want Iron Bull to be there, but I wouldn't mind having Cullen or a very interesting female companion over him. Because no one can replace Sten

In a 'Crying Game' moment we find out that Cullen is really a girl during the romance sex scene, therefore it is really 5-4 instead of 6-3.

I'm pretty sure they would have made it a bigger deal on twitter and whatnot if they were actually revealing the companions this way. The artist drew characters he saw in the existing concept art they've showed, and he doesn't work for Bioware.

Have you already forgotten DAO? Morrigan, Leliana, Wynne. Also 3 females!!!

Let see Cassandra is the new Morrigan or sort of, Vivienne is the next circle mage after Wynne, Iron Bull is the Anti Sten,  Cullen is a real templar compared to

Alistair, Varric is a better Oghren, elven bard mage is like Zevran a elven male, Sera is not human but she is also female.

Only the Grey Warden is an exception because he is no Dog.

Well, there's scribe girl, but I don't think she'll be a companion, she'll probably be your assistant in the Keep, sort of like Kelly and Samantha in ME.

A 4/5 ratio would be nice, but I can live with 3/6.

Maybe the first day DLC character is a rogue (Provided that the characters you mentioned turn out to be our companions...)

I think the Grey Warden may be one. Though maybe I only think that because of the hawk he's carrying around. He's not as heavily armored as Cullen or Cassandra, nor a hulking berserker type like Iron Bull. *shrug* I could be wrong. I originally thought mustache guy was a rogue.
