Level up: 25
Freebies due to plot developments: 3 (You will ALWAYS get these)
Standard Tomes: 3 (Arcane or Physical Technique)
From a certain succubus: 1 (I don't know this one is available to non-mages.)
So 34 if you're a mage. 34 or maybe 33 when you're a warrior/rogue.

This is true, but your PC-MAGE can then give the book to a warrior/rogue/mage companion to read it. The tome of ethereal suggestion works for all classes. I like to play as a mage myself and with the bonuses I get during the plot and from the other tomes I have more than enough spells and I like to give the book to Leliana so that she can max one more of her rogue talent trees. In my last playthrough as an arcane warrior/spirit healer I finished at level 22 with 30 spells and Lelianna finished at the same level with 28 talents.BlackVader wrote...
Note: The extra book from the Succubus is only available to PC-MAGES. Any other mage will refuse to talk to the demon.

Also I just did Urn quest and when you heal the Arl I got a Skill point and 1 Attribute Point, no Talent point. I reloaded and got the same result. Is it realistic to get to level 25? I was figuring 22 or 23. Also I thought there were only 3 Tomes for warriors and Rogues and 3 arcane tomes for mages. Camp, Orz, and After Landsmeet. Plus Grimoire of Frozen Waste. So I am thinking either 28 29 or 30 depending on level.
I don't know what's wrong with your game or your observations but when I healed the Arl on my mage play through I got a spell point just fine.
25 is not really realistic without 'expoilting' but 24 is absolutely doable by just being thorough.
There are 4 arcane tomes for mages:
One in camp the first time you meet Bohdan immediatly after leaving Lothring for the first time
One in camp at any other point in the game
One in the Circle Tower from the Quartermaster
One from The Wonders of Thedas in Denerim
There are also 4 physical technique tomes for warriors/rogues:
One in camp the first time you meet Bohdan immediatly after leaving Lothring for the first time
One in camp at any point in the game between the first meeting and after the landsmeet
One in the Orzamar Commons from Garin
One from Bohdan when he meets you at Redcliffe Castle after the Landsmeet

You get a skill point if you are a rogue I believe. Warriors and mages get a talent/spell.

No there's nothing to that. Both of them are always just one point.
That's what I figured. I noticed a few of the descriptions are not correct like Walking Bomb and Animate Dead, too, but it's no big deal. I know what they can do so I'll let it slide!

What level have most people been when they complete the game? Lets say 23 for example. Then how many talents can you get? 2 at start plus 1 for each level after. So thats 24, then 3 tomes for talent points, 1 after the joining. Am I forgetting any. So 28 Talents or 7 full lines. Correct me if I'm wrong.
My lv 25 warrior cleared 2 spec lines, 2 warrior lines, 3 DW lines and 1 archery line with 1pt left over. I bought every book I possibly could I believe.
So that's 33 points total?
btw, I hear rogues get an extra point at lvl 20, is that true?

Out of the 2 previous games I've finished I never really got near that. I was usually in low 20s. I think first game was 20 and 2nd was 22.
My current game I will make it to 25 becasue I'm exploiting the points bug by the Highdragon. I just wanna confirm the 25 cap for myself and see what happens. I'm gonna have talent points that go to waste or have extras I don't need sense I pretty much have everything filled already as a warrior.
