And thus her bisexuality may be one of those traits.

As long as there's something consistent in their background for it, I think stuff like that is cool. It made sense to me for Leliana and Zevran, who were adventurous and worldly. While Morrigan was different (hell, she wasn't much for relationships or friends to begin with, let alone romance).

I'm not talking about bisexuality, if she is an obviously bisexual character ala Isabela or Leliana I would have no issues whatsoever

I'm talking about playersexuality

i said I wouldn't open the can, but I did it, I opened the can

Well, define "obvious." Not everyone is going to go around propositioning everyone like Isabela.

Um, sexual orientation doesn't really have anything to do with adventurousness.

So, I really like Cassandra's design in Inquisition and all. But her new uniform makes her seem much slimmer than before, especially since the only heavy parts of it are the pauldrons, though its funny that she's got little heart designs on them.

From the PAX footage, it seems her armor can get much heavier. Look at hers in Crestwood.

So its ok to only change a character's sexuality between universes and nothing else, because that is not the same as changing other things about the character in different universes?

Yet, sexuality is not a simple on/off switch, a person's sexuality is part of their identity and if you change that you change other things about them as well.

Why not? That's the point of alternate universes.

With stuff like this, I simply ask: Does this affect your game? If the answer is no, which playersexual falls under, then why worry about it? It won't affect your game, so who cares?

If she tells us about a past relationship with a woman, or has a a girlfriend or something.

Bisexuality does. There's an openness and anything goes type of attitude with it. That isn't just genetics or orientiation, but a general attitude.

You can always change her outfit

So I take it that Anders was fine for you?

Although I still have doubts, as Merrill and Fenris both had perfectly explicable reasons for not having any beforehand (Merrill's shyness and Fenris' slavery).

Er... not really, no. I know several bisexuals and none of them are a thing like Isabela.

Let's not turn this into a Playersexuality  thread. We have threads for those and if not one can be made.

This ^^ I agree with this. It's a video game, not real life. It's supposed to be a place where we get to act out our fantasies. Including, but not limited to that.

And if it doesn't effect any other part of the game, who cares? Does it really hurt people's enjoyment of these games so much? I don't get it.

So since we are going to have multiple universes with characters having different traits in each one, why even bother making characters at all?  Why not just have a bunch of tranquil companions?

I'm not worried about it "affecting my game", its the trend I find troubling, players shouldn't feel entitled to romances with their favorite characters.

Ex.  I like traynor, but I don't want her to be romance-able by anyone and everyone in alternate universes, I want a character in my universe who is consistent.  Should my FemShep and her match up all power to them, I have no issues with that, but I don't want an alternate universe where Traynor is a lesbian with the exception of Shepard, it seems like sloppy writing and pandering

Anders was not fine for me because of his prior characterization as heterosexual in Awakening

"Likes women" does not automatically translate to "heterosexual."

Come on. If he was bi, he would definitely hit on Nathaniel in his banter. Even Oghren could barely resist that. :P

Anders doesn't hit on Nathaniel even when it's confirmed that he's bi, so either his gaydar has confirmed that Nathaniel is unreceptive, or he doesn't find... whatever the hell that voice was to be sexy.

If he was meant to be portrayed as bisexual it would have come up somewhere between his ogling of Andraste's statuary or his "all I want is a pretty girl..."

Well, they didn't have to care in Awakening, because no one was intended to be romanceable. In 2, they had to and fleshed him out a bit more with Karl. I see no harm in that, especially given how scanty Awakening and Anders both were.

Bringing up Traynor was a good example. Loved that character, even if i didn't romance her (mostly play male Sheps). ME3 handled romance options pretty well, I think. Having different boundaries made all the character friendships more interesting than DA2, imo.

Or alternatively he was originally written as heterosexual, and he was only made bisexual in DA2 for whatever reason, and thus we get this disconnect

You don't have to romance a character to be able to like them

Well, if you want DAI to have six LIs with equal sexuality numbers that way, feel free to request it.

Of course not.

I'm just saying that I like the dynamics of not romancing just as much. Same with Cortez.. I like the options to befriend him or Traynor as a straight character. It has a different angle to it.

Speaking of that movie, I hope Colleen Clinkenbeard, who voiced Cassandra, is a voice for the Inquisitor or even a companion.
