The very influential writer Amy Hennig, who wrote on such prestigious games as The Legacy of Kain, Jak & Daxter then Uncharted, have been reported forced out by Naughty Dog -- She's been at Crystal Dynamics while working on Kain then moved on to Naughty Dog to work on their franchises. Reports say that she's been forced out of Naughty Dog by Neil Druckmann (Guy behind Last of Us) & Bruce Staley (Last of Us too), for some reason -- Although how true this is yet to be known. This sounds a bit weird to me.

Personally, I hope she goes back to Crystal Dynamics to work on Kain again. Whatever she does I hope she'll stay put in the industry.

Kain was a better IP than everything ever made a Naughty Dog, but I doubt she will return to Crystal Dynamics. Office politics is always garbage.

I'm sure she'll find work elsewhere. She has a credible resume and has worked on some huge blockbuster games. I don't think the writing will suffer over at uncharted either as i've felt the overall writing and character and character development for "The Last of Us" was amazing.

I've pretty much hated every naughty dog game i have ever played but it's still sad to see someone lose their job. I hope she finds a new job somewhere else.

Alas poor Kain to be gutted into an MMO that will fail like all others.

That's a shame, Uncharted games were the only reason for me to get a console back in the day.

When considering the level of writing she displayed for the Soul Reaver series i think her talent is better suited elsewhere. Like say that LoK reboot? Without her i doubt it's story, character development and dialogue would live up to the original.

In regards to the Uncharted series, the character relationships and banter were what made the series for me, especially Drake's Deception. It makes we wonder if they'll mimic Amy's writing or if not what new style ND is looking for with part 4.

So any chance of her now returning to Crystal Dynamics to head up a real Legacy of Kain game? Defiance ended well enough, but I'm dying for a continuation.

I say reboot it and toss the Hylden story line.

It's worth nothing the co-presidents of Naughty Dog issued a statement saying

However, we feel it necessary to clear up a very important point that was unprofessionally misreported when the story broke. Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann were NOT involved in what transpired. It was very upsetting to us that dozens of stories were run, linking back to the same hurtful accusations in the original report. As co-presidents of Naughty Dog, we are responsible for all studio affairs.

Here is my 2cents copied from the gaming website I use(CVG)

To take either side of this situation is foolish there are no facts other than she no longer works for Naughty Dog and in the absence of evidence you cannot put truth behind the speculation.

As far as I'm concerned this article story is no longer about someone leaving a company but about a supposedly credible company that is to say IGN circulating potentially harmful accusations. It would be different if it was a small games site aiming for clickbait as it would be called out as such but as "major" site not only reported it but broke the story it lends the IGN credibility(for whatever that's worth)

Now if Amy comes out and says it's all true(even then if the split isn't amicable there will still be a he said she said aspect to it all) I will appologise for this rant against IGN but until then I chose to believe that IGN are following Tabloid Journalism 101 which means that everything they say(especially their headlines) should not be taken as fact and they should certainly not be trusted as the only source of a news piece(which they are in this case)

/rant

I'm sorry I just really hate speculative media

Bear in mind that I took this report as nothing more than a rumor too and I even made abudantly clear because what the article referred seemed strange to me. I've never perceived Druckmann to be this kind of guy, based on twitter feed & the latest documentary on The Last of Us. I feel that Naughty Dog seems to be a group of open minded people, very passionated about what they do, very cooperative. Even I raised questions and it's good that you chose to provide some elaboration on it all.
