Beats me. I'm just telling you what the outline actually says and when it said it, not what people said about the script many months later.

I suppose this is where someone says that Bio decided to kill Shepard after the outline only to then go back on that decision, or some such .

It's not like other things weren't changed in the script

Seriously. Chronodragon.... There is no beam from the earth to the Citadel after Shep boards. A simple check on YouTube proves that behold any doubt. There is no way for anyone to reach Shepard.

As for Kasiershep , where would that narcoleptic vorcha come from? What vorcha would decide that point zero is a good place to look for survivors? Honestly, how do you even come up with the idea?

couldn't they simply track shepard's comm signal? I mean his/her comms equipment is still working, as shep and Anderson are talking to one another on the citadel.

Well, except for a spaceship. Good thing there are plenty of those around.

Yeah I'm sure the first thing they'll do after the red wave hits is turn around and check the outside of the Citadel.

Way I headcanon it happening is that Bailey and a detachment of C-Sec made their way to the Council Chambers and tried to open the ward arms, but were unable to because they lacked Vigil's data file. Upon hearing the transmission from Shepard, they make their way downn the tower towards where the Crucible is docked. They ride out the Wave, and are ultimately the first responders to the scene, locating Shepard via his omnitool's transponder.

Which cutscene shows this? It makes no sense for the beam to turn off after Shepard boards. The EC shows the beam active. So either the good guys turned it back on or it was never turned off. Either way, they can get to Shepard.

The MEU, the only place where spaceships are everywhere, but you can't reach someone on a space station in earth's orbit.

And at the center of the most important phenomenon in recorded history, too. No, nobody's going to ever look up there.

"wats a citadel?"

Something that exploded into an unstable orbit around Earth and could turn into an extinction event along with all the other things like... the 2 km long reapers that will soon enter the atmosphere. Oh... s***! But not to worry! Everything can and will be rebuilt in a matter of months!

You can also add all the shots that missed the Reaper armada arrayed in front of Earth during the space battle cinematic to that.

It's ok. Even if Earth's population has been reduced to the hundreds, our gene pool will be fine thanks to our "incredible genetic diversity".

Ironically, we did it once. Though not hundreds. So we're actually fairly ungenetically diverse for a large mammal.

Which is why I tried to chew my controller to bits when that line popped up in ME2.

It's interesting seeing the opinion of a gamer who beat ME3 for the first time after the EC. My opinion of ME3 will forever be coloured by the original ending.

Why do you feel as if you were kicked in the quad? Kind of depends on what you did not like about the ending. Me personally, since ME3 was the end of the trilogy I was looking for a certain amount of closure and I did not feel as if I got it. Bioware were so busy saying goodbye to Shepard that they did not give us a chance to say goodbye to say anyone else ( at this point in time I should probably point out that I have not played Citadel yet ) which is something that did not sit well with me. I wanted little character epilogues explaining what happened to everyone. I wanted more solid info on what life after the ME3 endings was like ( the EC did not do a well enough job here for me, felt to much like applying a band aid to a 8 inch hole in the chest, not good enough to get the job done ). I also have major issues with the quality of writing in ME3 in general however everything after Chronos Station is shockingly awful. I also have issues with ME3 pacing but his is a discussion about the ending so I won't go into that here.

I find the Mass Effect itself more of a stretch than the genetic diversity bits.

This is assuming that the Citadel and reapers wouldn't simply become debris in orbit. Needless to say, however, that after a massive orbital battle that likely sends lots of debris into the atmosphere and months of reaper death rays spitting heat death everywhere, Earth's weather patterns will be noticeably different for a long time.

Got all the warm and fuzzy vids on buddies/races enjoying their victory over the reapers, yet I still

feel bad about Shep... Sure they show all the good stuff happening to the others in the universe but

nothing more on shepard who saved billions of people...just one breath to hint at survival laying

there with a boulder on her head.

Well that's what makes it so heroic. The other two options are narcissistic (control) and totalitarian (synthesis). You go for the destruction option assuming you're going to die. I wish they had not included that silly "Shepard lives" clip at all. It kinda devalues the whole thing.

Well, frankly, I saw the whole "Imma run at that exploding pipe!" thing as stupid. It's nothing Shepard can't do from a safer distance.

You must be new around here, using words like "heroic" so freely. :police:

Don't worry. All those asari ships and their crew still in working order will be happy to, ahem... help. Genetic diversity will be maintaned.

Well, you can look at that as Shepard finally seeing the end and actually wishing for everything to end.

It's not like Shepard hasn't expressed some suicidal thoughts through the game.

Yeah - asari diversity. They could practically walk home within their lifetimes.

Only if you choose certain dialogue options (paragon tended to be more fatalistic throughout, renegade more determined). Some of my Shepards did, some didn't. It's out-of-character for the latter to spontaneously choose to manufacture their own death.

*after emerging from the beam*
Paragon Shepard: "It tastes like... dying!"
Renegade Shepard: "Just have to keep moving..."

I always thought of the "feel like death" line to be more tongue-in-cheek, though Shepard is a little worse for wear.

Well, there's always a little human in there, you know... :P Even if we have to go down to the DNA levels to get to it.

Fair point, I concede your victory :) Guess it just makes sense to me that, after everything they've been through, most of my Shepard would be quite weary od everything.
