I still remember the shock of posting in threads and the thread would already have moved on pages worth in the meantime.

Yes. 2 or 3 pages down in the span of a minute.

I think I spent that whole weekend (and most of the month, if I'm being honest) glued to this place. I could not look away.

I've gone back and looked at some of them out of a morbid curiosity.
Quite amazing really.

Yeah I was very much glued to this place as a release valve for my disappointment. Heck I was even so riled I wrote them a long letter trying to eloquently express my disappointments which is something I've never done before and doubt I ever will again.

Mac Walters is not so optimistic

No, but what he said doesn't contradict what Weekes said.

If we have to choose one interpretation: out of the two one makes it a tradition to contradict himself and the other is a well-regarded writer of people's favorite parts of ME3. I think I know who I'm believing.

And the game is still radioactive two years later.

I really hope Biwoare learned something from this.

The problem still the same : Bioware is not the one who has to learn something. Seems like until the next mass effect, people will still come to complain about the same things again and again. Mass Effect 3 discussion will start to be interesting when haters will go and play the next Mass effect.

Did the named characters gang together to sacrifice the poor unnamed folks to the reapers. I'll stick to notion that most didn't get out alive.

Go for it, not sure why that's your preference but sure.

Who cares if they did, anyway? One of the lessons of the ME3 ending is that players care more about their space hamster than the billions of unnamed NPCs inhabiting the galaxy.

I prefer to think that most died if only so I can get rid of some annoying NPCs. *whistles*

Don't mind me, I suppose I'm too easily amused for my own good. I meant nothing by it.

*shrug*

I'm just ****** with you. It was me and Deinon riffing, and you jacked his mojo.

I take it that your definition of hate is 'any feedback at all that has anything that isn't blind fawning faith'? Except of course your own issues with the game. Because then you'd have to include your own complaints as 'hate'.

And satan forbid we include the term 'criticism'  :o

you know exactly what he means. Stop twisting it. Nobody claims that ME3 is perfect or without it's share of flaws. He specifically said "haters". You know, those people that blindly hate on everything. The ones with which you're damned if you do, damned if you don't. The ones that twist every little positive thing said about the game into their own little pessimistic interpretation. Those that claim to be "offended" by a videogame.

Maybe your "take" on what he said is directly influenced by the fact that he's describing someone such as yourself?

Hmm. I didn't realize you were immune to twisting words when calling someone else out for it. Because you just twisted my words.

I'll be honest: Yeah, there is a lot of noise like 'BIOWARE IS ****** STUPID AS HELL!' that needs to be toned down and disregarded against the people who bring forward the general complaints, issues, and unsatisfactory feedback that is criticism.

Would you really label a person as a hater because they have an overly negative reaction (that is validated by legitimate and reasonable concerns voiced here) because you dislike them as well? Because that's what your argument is coming down towards.

In fact, you disregarded your own claim when you made the statement that I were to fall under such auspices of the term 'hater' without validation and in stubborn defense of a guy who isn't legitimately deriding blind haters so much as he is deriding people who had a problem with what was presented period.

Maybe you shouldn't be such a hater of other people's perspectives?

Yeah me3 definitely has some flaws but it's most certainly not as bad as people tryin make it out to be. I mean do people really not remember these boards before me3 came out? how much the me1 fans hated on me2 with its thermal clips and Cerberus railroading the Lazarus project the me1 li's being almost completely sidelined(until Lotsb) the human proto reaper and the list goes on. But now it's the held up as the best game in the trilogy (tho I agree) and used to repeatedly bash me3 (which I find ironic considering what came before)

see....you're twisting again. I asked you a question and you proceeded to somehow twist that into me making a "statement" of you falling under the definition of a 'hater'.......

A question is not a statment. And um, I never "hated" on your perspective. I merely pointed out that you were using your perspective of what he said as some sort of evidence as to who he was actually referring to. You immediately pointed out that "oh by 'hater' you mean anybody who has a problem with blah blah blah..."

Like, where did that come from? That's what I was pointing out. No need to hate. I find it funny.

Twist away...

I am one of those "ME2 haters" and my position on it hasn't changed much on it.  I consider it the first sign that narrative quality-wise, Bioware has gone downhill fast.

But I still consider it creative genius compared to ME3.

Ah, I remember those days.

All I had to say was "Entitled" and the entire thread would explode.

Anyone remember the "vocal minority"? The melancholy :crying:

Were there any 'open letters to the community'?

That was always a favourite of the Total War forums.

I merely pointed out the fact that he went off on some wild tangent accusing the guy of considering every person that isn't blindly faithful to everything about the game, is in fact a 'hater'. To which point, I guess I could've asked "where the hell did you get that from?" But instead I decidedly to ask a more inquisitive question "why does this bother you? Is it because you hate ME3?"

Lol glad to see everybody still has their overly sensitive side. All one needs to do is is type 'hater'......and they'll reveal themselves. No need to look

I remember how the Synthesis and Control Support threads actually had people discussing the merits of their endings in a logical and concise manner with a Destroy supporter stopping by one in a while to **** on the thread because they were ass holes.

The Destroy support thread reached about 18 pages and could be summed up as "Our ending is the best, everyone else is Indoctrinated. I wonder when those Synthesis and Control Supporters will **** on our thread like we did to theirs!".

I've read Hyperion and the Fall of Hyperion.

Tried reading Endymion, but the religious allegory was so thick by then I had to put it down.

I'd bet money Ieldra would react the same way.

I've often suspected that Bio's writers took some inspiration from this work. However, Simmons was able to bring off the mumbo-jumbo in a way that ME's writers  really weren't.

FYI I'm in the middle of Hyperion now.....please don't list any spoilers to it or it's immediate sequel. Much appreciated

Well, to be fair the IT people had no easy life either and mods did not really help 'em either(BW lost even more respect in my eyes when they banned the theory from the forum)

Anyway, looking back it was, at least, good entertainment :P

So your one of the me1 was the best game in the trilogy kinda of people? All I gotta say is if I had played me1 first I would never have even played the rest of the trilogy. After all the praise it's story got on bsn I thought it would be amazing... Let's just say i was severly unimpressed.
