This is a call to arms for any remaining Dungeons & Dragons gamers.

Subterranea is a new cRPG project that has just launched a Kickstarter in hopes of raising a modest sum to ensure its completion. It is described as a 3D Fantasy Role-playing Game.

In fact, from watching the videos and reading the developer's posts, Subterranea seems like a cross between NWN2 (hence the relevance of posting on this forum) and Temple of Elemental Evil. It will feature turn-based combat and use the OGL ruleset, while including some innovative physics based environmental interaction.

There won't be another officially licensed 3.5 edition D&D cRPG. But there is hope from independent projects like this.

Check out the Kickstarter page here:

Doesnt look any different than any other F2P 2-star title out there. No player toolset for create your own. I'll pass. You wont develop anything substantial for the tweak money they are trying to get. Chekc out Richard Garriots Kickstarter. THAT is a development monster properly done. I honestly think with what we have now with NWN2 you could do more than what this is trying to kickstart.

12k.... this kind of money doesn't make a game. I mean, yes, it does. But in no case one that brings the hope or RPG D&D back. I'm sorry. Pillars of Eternity and Tides of Numenera, even though they also have no D&D stamp on them they might achieve this. We'll see.
