I was surprised that I was so turned on by it too, brother.
No Country For Old Men - I admire Chigurh. He makes me wonder if men like that can be made, or are simply born that way.

I was actually talking about the performances themselves, but ok. Also, Im really questioning you for identifying with a clear psychopath, suffering from multiple illusions, a refusal to understand others, and a lack of any kind of remorse. As for your question, both. Psychopathic tendencies are actually quite common, with about 1/20 having some associated illness. However, childhood abuse is often linked to infamous individuals with the disorder, given that the event exacerbates the illness

Well, both of my parents were violent drunks. There's hope for me yet.
By the way, you might want to be more careful about who you insult.

The hypocripsy is astounding. Also, there wasnt even an insult in there. Its just strange to express admiration for a monster. Its like someone randomly expressing respect for Ted Bundy, Chris Feeman, or Chirs Benoit

The thing is, as a tough S.O.B, I don't have to be careful. Also, you should have read the spoiler, kid. Why do you have such a problem with me, Jerome? It's not my fault I'm utterly insane.

Fun fact about that movie. It is based on a true story. Donald Pleasence was actually there during the actual events. He was one of the prisoners during WWII.

Hollywood appears to be taking on the idea of AI in a big way lately. We've had a rash of interesting and diverse depictions: Iron Man + Avengers (Jarvis and soon Ultron), Tron, Prometheus (David), Transcendence, Her, Interstellar (Tars and Case), Chappie, Terminator, and now Ex Machina, a slow burn thriller about a programmer, Caleb, selected by his unbelievably wealthy and eccentric boss, Nathan, to perform a Turing test on his secret AI creation, Eva, at small private research facility located far out in the gorgeously shot snowy forest wilderness. What starts out as three people (or beings) in a congenial but awkward relationship soon devolves into a creepy mind game of deceit and manipulation.
Not really my type of movie, but it kept me guessing, and the fun was watching the true motivations of each of these characters being revealed.
P.S. Oscar Isaac's Nathan was perfect as the chummy a-bit-too-friendly boss that you would just not be comfortable being that casual with.

You might like this one too. Also a new A.I movie.

Gangs of New York
Martin Scorsese's period epic about gang wars in 19th Century New York
basically a showcase for Daniel Day Lewis as Bill the Butcher and a lot of fancy editing and cinematography
The real Bill the Butcher (William Poole) died well before the draft riots that make up the films Platoon-esque climax
Jim Broadbent nearly matches Lewis as Boss Tweed
Leonardo Dicaprio and Cameron Diaz are Kinda blah, which lowers the film to an 8.5/10

One of my favourites. Bill The Butcher is another character I admire. Questionable motives but an honourable, powerful leader nonetheless. Another interesting point is that the real Bill's last words were rumoured to be, "Good-bye boys; I die a true American.". What a man.

I watched the first 35 minutes of Hero 6, because my brother has dominated the TV...
It looks like a mixture of:
Meet the Robinsons
G.I.Joe: The Rise of Cobra
and a movie about Dueling robots that I don't remember its name...

Basic, not very inclusive and uninspired. Yet stylish and quite enjoyable nonetheless.
