Apparently, Brad Pitt joins the Russians and kills lots of zombies.

Despite the troubled production, the movie made half a billion, so it is now.

And that makes me sad. Has anyone read the book? Casue that was absolutely fantastic

What was the original ending supposed to be?

I thought this was another trilogy

Basically Brad Pitt goes to Russia where he's drafted into the Russian military, the Soldier lady gets sold into slavery, and so does Brad Pitts wife.

Also Brad Pitts solution is "Lets freeze the Zombies!" Even though that plan is not practical and really, really, stupid,

Far from the Madding Crowd

far-from-the-madding-crowd-film-2015-hab

What is a young peasant woman to do when a tall brooding handsome independent shepherd of means presents her with an adorable baby lamb, and then abruptly proposes marriage? Take the lamb and run! Alas, instead she just lets him down gently. Then their fortunes quickly reverse, and through the rest of this movie, while she asserts her authority over her newly inherited farm, the two share hopelessly touching moments standing just a tad too close, holding hands, looking soulfully at and past each other, and all sorts of other crap where neither acknowledges their mutual attraction.

Ok, so this movie is HILLARIOUSLY romantic, and fans of the English countryside (and sheep) will get an eyeful.

On a more serious note, the movie managed to depict the utter frustration of both men and women of some moderate stature (successful farmers and landowners) struggling to conform to and against the expectations of the time.

Red Tails - Not the greatest dialogue, but at least it avoids some of the usual typical historical editing. 7/10

The Tuskegee Airmen - A better story, but it includes too much revisionist history in the tale for my liking. 7/10

Oblivion - An action film with the pacing of a soap opera. Great effects, but could miss them while napping, surfing, etc. 6/10

Kingsman. I thought Avengers was pretty good, but have to admit that I enjoyed this one way more. Bit over the top at some points, but really entertaining. Good acting, good cast and it had a lovely feel to it. But I am bit biased towards to anything that involves great action and classy suits.

Big_Trouble_in_Little_China_Film_Poster.

It's been described as a film that's about a "sidekick who thinks he's the hero"; I think that this conceit is clever enough as far as it goes, although it isn't followed through on as consistently as it could have been, especially towards the end. Otherwise, it's a reasonably enjoyable experience that didn't leave the deepest impact on me.

I know it's a TV show. But I only just recently watched the first few episodes. Have to say, despite relatively low production quality, the show was still quite some fun to watch.

It's kinda relevant to the thread; in Firefly, Joss Whedon pioneered the 'snap zoom' technique whereby you quickly zoom in on some object from a distance in order to create a sense of visceral spontaneity in the scene. Pretty interesting, especially since Whedon's reputation as a cinematographer is otherwise not legendary.

^Oh yea, there were scenes where the camera snaps-zooms into the Serenity in space. Similar to how BioWare did it in ME2. Glad to see BioWare took notes from the show :D

Hey they are running ads for Jaguar cars here and it looks like someone from this movie in a red waistcoat and glasses.  He mentions being a villian.

Ah found it.

But over here in Australia it's almost half that length.  Is this tied into Kingsman?

Yeah, the ones that came previously was better, after seeing that I was expecting Tom Hiddleston to pop up at some point during the movie.

I doubt it since the first ones came earlier.

I watched this movie again and enjoyed it. I don't know how accurate it is to the real life story of the Bielski brothers and the formation of the Bielski partisans. But for what it is it's good. Shreiber gave a better, more interesting performance than Craig did, but Craig did his job. Not superb but not sub-par.

6-7/10
