aka how to screw up an amazing idea. huh... cringeworthy acting, slow-mo, CGI and generally terrible writing (with few brilliant diamonds) can f..k up a really awesome movie after all.

More depressing than entertaining. When Lonesome Dove appears to be a Rom-Com in comparison, you may wish to reconsider your options....

dude, don't mind me. it is amazing, hell yes. but cannot resist the overwhelming urge to facepalm and laugh histerically at every single f...n scene. i'm embarrassed for actors, editor, director, pretty much every person who made that movie, while watching it. it's even worse than watching Twilight, cuz i actually care.
Alright boys. After all these Kevin Costner bashing I try to find his best movies.
Which of these movies are the better ones to watch?

I say untouchables or DancesWith Wolves (that one won an oscar for best picture)

JFK was my favorite out of the list. I liked The Untouchables quite a bit as well. But I liked it for De Niro more than Costner.

We have just watched 'Wolf Hall' (PBS a BBC2 presentation) the first part of a 3 part series on Thomas Cromwell. Rather the history has had liberties take with it or not, the acting is superb.
England in the 1520s is a heartbeat from disaster. If the King dies without a male heir, the country could be destroyed by civil war. Henry VIII wants to annul his marriage of twenty years and marry Anne Boleyn. The Pope and most of Europe oppose him. Into this impass steps Thomas Cromwell: a wholly original man, a charmer, and a bully, both idealist and opportunist, astute in reading people, and implacable in his ambition. But Henry is volatile: one day tender, one day murderous.
Damian Lewis is at his best, a truly remarkable Henery VIII and Mark Rylance performance as Cromwell is superior. The supporting cast is entirely enjoyable, but the signature so far is the cinematography. Filmed in natural light and capturing England in its natural environment down to the windy day of Anne's beheading.
I am looking forward to the next two series.
Just saw the two parter play in NYC, loved it

Nah I really enjoyed it. Saw it twice.
Never saw Lonesome Dove. Is it on Netflix?

It's not a movie I've seen, but I want to.
(trailer actually starts at 1:09)
Looks pretty good. I don't consider myself a huge NWA fan, but this is no less interesting.

Watched by recommendation from another BSN user. I enjoyed it quite a bit actually. It was paced well. And while the acting wasn't didn't blow me away, it was well done enough to make the characters enjoyable to watch. Having no knowledge of it besides a "You should watch" and a skimming of an IMDB description. I was pleasantly surprised. 7/10
When I first watched it I was 13 and hadn't hit puberty yet! It was mystic and kinda scary.

INB4: All of this is probably post viewing hype. But still it's the best movie I've seen this year.
"You live, you die. You live again!"
Welcome to the world of the damned. It's been 30 years since the last Mad Max. And Fury Road doesn't disappoint. Well paced, wonderfully acted, and executed with precision. Miller at his best. Both Charlize and Tom are great. In fact I think Charlize outshines Tom's performance but only by the slightest. Gibson will always be Max, but major props to Hardy. His performance was very good.
What's interesting, without going into too much detail, is how little of this story is Max's. This doesn't mean he isn't a central character or to say he takes a back seat. But rather Max is the catalyst for the audience more so than a point to which the story revolves. The action however is the star of the show. CARnage at it's best. Brutal and over the top, but not so that it's obnoxious (if that makes sense). And surprisingly a lot of it was all practical effects. Cars actually explode, flip, smash, and crash. This film drips with style. It's fast, it's mad, it's "emotional", and most of all it's Max.
Strong 7 to solid 8 out of 10.
EDIT: I also wanted to say the score is also great. Fits the movie like a glove. Nothing felt out of place music wise. And the guitar......Well let's just say it's flaming hot.
A little taste
Oh and if we're throwing in television. I've beenwatching The Sopranos lately. I've made it to season 3. Still love it.

No goddamn TV series. I hate how they pour water in everything!

Hey we got a mini series, and Firefly.
Also have you seen The Sopranos? I'd hardly call that watered down television.

Alright, I mean more than 3 seasons series.
