There is absolutely no earthly reason to remake this movie, but I am really looking forward to it.

Milla Jovovich, I don't care, it gets a 10. Pierce Brosnan turns in an above average acting for his role. Dylan McDermott is just plain pretty.

The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed out the Window and Disappeared

The-100-Year-Old-Man-Who-Climbed-Out-Of-

Sort of a German version of Forest Gump - a comedy of a hapless wander who likes to make things explode (hence the dynamite in the poster) caught up in 70 years of utterly ridiculous international intrigue (when the CIA asks him, "can you help us?" his first response is, "sure... do you have a problem?"), and way darker. I found it enjoyable, even though I had to understand it mostly through subtitles.

There are a few English sequences, including a memorable one where the main character records President Reagan taking about "the wall" in his garden, that, later, Gorbachev hilariously misinterprets.

Only if they wear president masks at least once. Everything else is arbitrary.

I watched Mad Max Fury Road this weekend, and it was glorious. It's nice to see good old fashioned super visceral automotive mayhem again, and bonus points for Charlize Theron's wicked dieselpunk prosthesis.

Gary Busey is not arbritrary.

The guy playing Bodhi though is a good actor.. I've seen him in a few things. Kind of surprising he's doing this.

Aloha

ALOHA-Movie-Review-1024x785.jpg

A lovable, predictable, romance comedy about the privatization of the US space program, infused with native Hawaiian mysticism. I don't understand the low ratings this movie got on rotten tomatoes. It was pretty much exactly what I expected. Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams, John Krasinski, and Bill Murray are all very likeable. Alec Baldwin steals all of his scenes. Unfortunately, all the best scenes are in the trailer, but the rest of the movie is hardly a dud.

My sneaking suspicion is that the low ratings (17%, yikes!) might be political because the US Air Force is presented as a bunch of affable do-gooders abused by military contractors engaging in hijinks way out in beautiful Hawaii, and not, say, as highly trained professionals who rain death from the sky on the enemy. It's the US Air Force from I Dream of Genie.

Anyway, I liked the movie.

Went to see it last night. In 3D.
I do not like 3D movies it turns out. They make me sick. Aside from that, great movie. Two thumbs up.

Yeah, USA soldier- hero- worship might be the only genre more saturated and cartoonish than superhero films

You sure it isn't just because the movie is s***?

@bold, you strike me as one of those people who think that everyone in the military is a soldier, regardless of their actual job.

Hence "@bold".

Or maybe I should type "@bold" in bold letters, since a lot of people seem to miss that bit.
