I've heard great things about this one.

I have to say, I appreciate the batch of more symbolic horror films being released lately. 2014 had Occulus and The Babadook, which are metaphors for mental illness and grief/depression, respectively, whereas (according to what I've heard, I've not seen the film itself) It Follows focuses heavily on sexual trauma and sexual insecurity.

Yep, I'm glad the random gruesome teen death genre is dying back, if only a little.

Watched Planes, Trains and Automobiles and the Conjuring today after work.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles is a classic, in my opinion.

The Conjuring.... probably one of the better modern horror/suspense films I've seen.

Yes, and yes.

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles is the only holiday movie that focuses on Thanksgiving, to my knowledge. That alone makes it great for me, on top of Steve Martin and John Candy being wonderful.

And yeah, The Conjuring was surprisingly good. too bad Annabelle was complete garbage. Patrick Wilson is pretty cool in most of the films he's a part of.

I like to watch Ant-Man, Bridge of Spies, CA: Civil War, SW, PotC, The JungleBook, and Toy Story 4 the most.

Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban

The Third Installment of the series is actually the best to this point and the shortest (besides Deathly Hallows Part 2)

Harry's third year at Hogwarts features an escaped convict named Sirius Black, who supposedly is responsible for Harry's parents deaths)

The escape leads to vicious creatures called Dementors roaming the halls of Hogwarts, and for some reason they really like Harry.

The new defense against the dark arts teacher Professor Lupin has his own secrets (obvious perhaps)

And Hermione gets a familiar (a really ugly cat named Crookshanks)

Oh yeah and Dumbeldore is now played by Michael Gambon (ably taking the place of the late Richard Harris)

Directed by Alfonso Cuaron, who has a better sense of pacing than Chris Columbus

My wife and I just finished the first season of the Wire. My god, that is a cast of great actors. We started season 2 last night and hope it is as good as season 1, so far so good.

I enjoyed the heck out of this one: a hilarious and keenly observed teen comedy about the subtle competition at the heart of most of our teen friendships (and probably our adult friendships as well). Granted, it is a little bit strange having Lindsey Lohan as the 'normal' one in a cast of crazies, given all of the tabloid history that has happened since, but the truth is that she is actually very good in this film. I found it very easy to relate to most of the characters in this film, but maybe that's just because I have ESPN or something. :)

Yeah and ScarJo is playing Kusanagi, oh and it's live action.....

I don't know why either. The original 96 release holds up still.

DreamWorks pls...

Word War Z. By the gods, I can't find the words to describe how bad that film was. Such a clusterf...  of illogical scenes and the completely wooden acting of Brad Pitt. One of the worst films I've ever watched.

Not a whole movie but for the 1st time I saw a few bits of 'The Sphere' with Dustin Hoffman, Samuel Jackson and Sharon Stone as i channel surfed.  O...M...G...  What a horrible movie, had to be a total paycheque movie as in the actors did it only for a large chunk of money.  BLECH!!!

I actually watched The Warriors for the first time this year. It was one of those moves that kept slipping by me. Cheesy movie, but entertaining. I can see why it is a cult classic.

No.

She's a decent actress, but the last person I would even consider playing the Major in live action. Being a VO maybe....MAYBE.

The Evil That Men Do. I posted it in the Actor/actress/movie thread and just had to watch it. I love the end scene at the mine.

The animated Dark Knight Returns.

That's probably the best Batman movie I've seen. They recreated the comic pretty well (I hadn't read it in years either..I forgot how good it was).

I have probably watched this 4 times now and no matter where I sit in the room it is still one questionable movie made by some pretty incredible actors. Michael Fassbender is always superb; whatever Charlize Theron misses in acting she makes up in appearance, Idris Elba is a great actor and wonderful piece of eye candy and there is smoothing about Noomi Rapace I find irresistible. The story line is one of the most inspiring I have ever seen and the special effects are great. Still, some how the story is lacking, but not so lacking that I don’t want to see it again. And I am hoping that March 4th 2016 will not be a disappointment. Ridley Scott says it will be good.
