Despicable Me. Never seen it up until now. Wanted to see what so funny about the minions to warrant their own movie

It doesn't teach you much that you wouldn't already know (or at least expect) about the porn industry, but it's still a rather fascinating piece. It also doesn't propagandize porn as being either really good or really bad.

Interesting VICE interview with Rashida Jones, the producer of this documentary

Sucker Punch (Extended Cut)

I'd love to say it's good, but it's not

still it has style to burn, hot girls, good turns by Scott Glenn and Jon Hamm and fancy action scenes full of anachronism.

I liked it, but will likely feel bad for having done so

You know that movie would have been good had it just been a story about the girls and their adventures and not making it a dream sequence.   That would have been far more fun.

Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation

About what I expected, with the addition of some pretty cool stunts (including an unbelievably acrobatic escape; did Ethan Hunt train with Cirque du Soleil?). Of course, the plot was ludicrous, but all of the actors gave good performances, and under Christopher McQuarrie's direction, the plot twists and turns were suitably enjoyable.

Likable characters, great western atmosphere and Clint Eastwood being Clint Eastwood.

Finished Whiplash yesterday, an absolutely *phenomenal* movie. Compelling characters and a storyline gripped around Andrew Neiman, an up-and-coming collegiate drummer aiming to be the best, juxtaposed with Terrance Fletcher, who might be described as combining a Conductor and a Drill Sergeant. He's a challenging personality. The film constantly plays around with their roles and Fletcher's intent, and is definitely not a one-note character. One of the best endings to a movie I've ever seen, cannot reccomend this movie enough.

I didn't mind that. Preferred it in fact to The Hunger Games, and Maze Runner... What's the sequel like anyone know?

what actually surprised me was the movie had commercials that related to the main Actress of the film. I never really seen that before just movies from the same production studio lol.

I just watched The Silver Linings Playbook. Loved the acting, less so the story, but that's as much because dramas involving mental illness leave me feeling drained as much as anything.

Saw the new Fantastic Four movie tonight.

This is possibly the worst movie I've seen in the last two years. Definitely the worst movie I've seen this year.

I could go on at length at how it was a failure on pretty much every level, but I've been ranting about that on twitter for a while so I'd just be repeating myself.

Probably the best thing I could say about it is that it isn't the worst Superhero/comic book movie I've ever seen. Ghost Rider and Elektra are worse. But not by a wide margin.

And given the talent involved, there's no reason it should have been this bad.

Was a nice story to watch, easy to follow, and all the scenes basically where devoid of the tacky CGI. Nice movie.

As a rule, when the director is trashing it; can't be great. Though I did read that John Huston hated his western The Unforgiven because Audrey Hepburn was badly hurt, and he felt responsible.

I went in with a fair amount of knowledge about the troubled production and what not. I was still hoping they'd at least get to the level of the 2005 film that, while bad, was somewhat enjoyable to watch.

This film did not achieve that.
