You reported me just because I slagged off Blade Runner? what are you 12

Seen Guardians of the Galaxy lately.

Horrible. Plot was nearly inexistant, action was uninspiredly boring, the characters bland and sometimes downright retarded ("I will go commit planeticide because I'm a zealot and you all deserve my rightious fury, NOW DIE *stops* y r u dance?") and the whole rest just as bad (flying around in open space with just a face-covering mask and leather coat, because durrrrr).

I'm not much into comics, but don't they usually have more substance than that?

Only really good comic movie I've seen so far is Watchmen.

^ I know 90s bad guys are supposed to talk too just on the verge of victory and then die painfully, but that takes it to a whole new low.

It pretty much doesn't have anything of anything. "Character development" seems to be: unfunny amoral guy tries make money, tries to woo a girl, saves the world to save his own skin, then is suddenly a guardian of the galaxy. Outlaw racoon "discovers the power of friendship" like he's in some japanese cartoon, and is suddenly a guardian of the galaxy. Who knows what's going on in the tree's head, all we know is that he likes the racoon and eventually the rest of the nakama, and that he's a walking Deus Ex Machina. She hulk kicks butt and falls in love with the white male protagonist. I thought there'd be a story of her leaving her dark past behind or osmething but nope, she was never evil. She was just waiting for white male protagonist to ditch her evil family. Godzilla has a better character arc than these people. It looks there might be something interesting going on with the Karen Gillian smurf but they never capitalise on it.

Is that directed at me? I didn't report you, and if I had I certainly wouldn't report you for disliking a movie that I like. If that were the case, I'd have reported several other people by now.

Watchmen is Cancer in film form. The book is fine. It's great. The movie is ****.

More so than Iron Man 3 or Jaws The Revenge. Which from me is something significant.

It's not worse than After Earth. So I guess that's something.

Actually they got Ronan pretty accurate. He never shut up in anything he's in.

That's a trend of the Kree I noticed.

I suppose we have quite different taste then. Granted, I do not know the source material for Watchmen so I can't compare the movie to it, but on its own, the movie is solid. Which is more than I can say about any other comic movie I've seen so far.

Then again, for others it can be solidly bad. In the end, everyone is his own critic.

The movie is stupid.

Ozymandias for apparently being so smart has a world peace plan that'll last 5 years at most before Russia and the US are back at each others throat.

Dr. Manhattan is gone, he left. There is witnesses that say he left. It's not going to work a 2nd time. It's Stupid and has no foresight. Even if there wasn't a book to compare it to this would be stupid.

In the Book he fakes an Alien invasion.

That's a decent plan. It has some form of foresight, since he could always do it again. It's a way of "Oh if we stop this truce thing, the Aliens will annihilate us!"

The real kicker? The Aliens were genetically engineered, and the purple tiger made with this genetic engineering was in THE MOVIE!

All the characters are flat versions of the books, the acting is really poor, the slow mo fights are so awful, Nite Owl looks like Dollar Store Batman (Really ironic given he's a Blue Beetle Expy), the effects are terrible except for Rorshachs mask, and the ending is so bad!

Or you could say it's a tragic foregone conclusion, that you can't change humans unless you change human nature. The same way that Ozy's plan is tragic by way of causing massive damage in both loss of life and material to get the peace, which by the end of it just validates the Comedian's point of view, which in turn pretty much spells out how the whole deal is going to end down the road.

What I mean with that is the movie goes full circle. It's solid. You think it's solidly stupid and that's your prerogative, though one might say your perception is biased based on how you know the source material, just as I am biased based on the fact that I don't and can only judge the movie itself.

Like I said, in the end, everyone is his own critic.

YOUR NOT MY MOM! YOU DON'T GET TO TELL ME WHAT TO DO!!!

I like bad movies. And I think they are good if they are bad enough. Sometimes those perceptions mix up and I like bad movies and think they are good without realizing I like them because they are so bad. Like "UHF", or "The Raid", etc. pp.!

And I will argue about that for as long I have popcorn!

I thought Guardians was a fun popcorn flick. I'm more interested in The Infinity War though, and wish they wouldn't drag their feet getting to it. That whole series was epic, one of the best Marvel has ever done IMHO.

Thank you! Finally someone who gets it >_<

Really not a terrible movie. But as someone who loves the source material the movie just felt like a bit of a let down.

I prefer Kingdom Come to Watchmen but I'll even say Zack Snyder butchered it brutally and with no remorse.

I can appreciate bad films if they're technically impressive and entertaining. I'm a geek for cinematography and a great score. Loved the first transformers and the recent godzilla. I'm glad you agree that guardians failed even in this regard.

Also, The Room.

Just got back from seeing Interstellar on IMAX. It dragged quite a bit, the dialogues were clunky and tedious, and it tried too hard to explain everything, which almost bored me off, especially as I'm an astronomy and theoretical physics enthusiast, so I already understand most of the concepts.

And yet, it ultimately satisfied. It took a long time to get to the good stuff, but the good stuff was pretty good. I wouldn't recommend it as a popcorn flick; it's pretty hard sci-fi stuff, with vibes of 2001 and other great hard sci-fi classics. However, hard sci-fi films are rare these days, so it still warms my heart when one of such ambition and production quality comes along, flaws and all.
