Liked Sunshine, but consider Event Horizon one of the worst Sci-Fi films since Life-force.Rather liked 'The Last Legion'. If one leaves the historical and legendary accounts aside, this rendition of the tale of Arthur is quite entertaining. And I have a new respect for Fireballs as a spell. :)

I consider Event Horizon to be more of a horror movie than a sci-fi one. My older brother hyped it up so much, how it was going to be the most expensive sci-fi movie ever made, I had such high expectations for it, expectations that it obviously couldn't live up to. It would be interesting to watch it again knowing it is more if a horror movie than a sci-fi one.

Sunshine was okay, I liked it but I wouldn't go so far as to call it a good movie.

I must be the odd one out here I didn't care much for Event Horizon......Or Sunshine

Nope, you're not alone. I think those films are overrated. Just watch Hellraiser instead. Can't stand 28 Weeks later either.

Ugh!!!!!!!!  Lifeforce now there's a movie I don't wish to watch again.

What did you find bad about Event Horizon?

Sunshine for me felt like a movie that was a bit schizzo....... It starts off really well and the first half is like a nice scifi/thriller, but then it just takes a turn in the other direction and becomes a boring slasher film........ As of the writers had some kind of brain fart in the middle.

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe"

Bladerunner is a really good film. Even holds up well as an action film despite having very few guns and fights. Though unfortunately the recent film I watched was 'Grown Ups".

Just kidding, it's one of those few films I could not watch half way through. I got really bored, frustrated, and annoyed of how unfunny it was. Believe me when I say that I can stomach through bad films and still find some enjoyment out of them. Like Skyline or Batman & Robin.

Speaking of Sunshine, I thought that film was quite unique. At least it wasn't so cliche as I originally expected it to be. There were no obligatory romances, multi-racial crew (Asian captain) and the soundtrack was quite good. That said, I wouldn't really say the film was fantastic, the science stuff was a bit naff and the plot is a bit nonsensical if you examined it closely. But at least the film's delivery, atmosphere, and mood was done quite well.

Not a fan of gore flics; not scary, just repulsive.

But my tastes are a bit sideways of the norm. Also dislike Bladerunner, though it is a film on my shelves due to story. Am simply not a fan of depressing films and shows.

Fave Sci-Fi horror are Alien, Serenity, etc.

Fave Sci-Fi in general are The Andromeda Strain, The Wrath of Khan, Fantastic Voyage, etc.

The thing for me with that film is it started well, and right near the middle takes a turn in a direction I did not like and it really gives me the sh*ts that they did that.  It could have been a good film.  IMHO

I like Blade Runner.

What I didn't like was that there are now 10 million versions of it. Considering who directed it not surprised.

Why do film makers do this?

I love the movie Innerspace and it's a comedy with links to Fantastic Voyage but I'd love to see a really serious updated version of Fantastic Voyage. I think it would be neat.

I found this in my facebook feed.............Ah brings back old fond memories

The first season in B&W was quite good. Dr Smith was a menace; not a comical diversion. And I grew up looking much like Bill Mumy, so the whole Will Robinson was my thing.

And while not the best of the examples, also loved Mysterious Island and most Ray Harryhausen films.

YES!!!!!!!! Ray Harryhausen was cool..... His animation style became legend somewhat.  Loved some of the films he was involved in.

Yes the first season of LIS was serious and mostly good. Then they ruined it towards the end.   Competing with other TV shows ruined it.

I have a unrelated question: Am I the only one who never liked Firefly? I dont mean to start a arguement, its just that I never understood the hype sorrounding the show. It definitely isn't the scifi-west thing, because I love Cowboy Behop, Wild Wild West, and Westworld. Maybe its just because Im not a big Joss Whedon fan (Yes I know; Geek sacrilage)

I like some JW projects; pass on others. Am a fan of Titan A.E. and avoided Buffy and Angel.

But I watched Firefly from the get-go; out of order, delayed, on different times and nights, and never missed an episode. What grabbed me was in the conclusion of the train heist where Mal kicked the big ugly into the engine. Once I laughed at that surprise, I was hooked.

But re-watching them on Disk was even better, though I dislike the extras. This is the way and order JW intended others to see his art, and I appreciate that. And few episodes offer me more entertainment value than Jaynestown, War Stories, or Mrs Reynolds.

If I could afford one, a brown leather duster would be mine.
