On a similar note I find myself liking Skyline..... Glad Earth didn't win.
Also I have a soft spot for The Darkest Hour
And Pacific Rim reminded me of Skyline at the end with that animation of all the robots...........
Saw Pacific Rim yesterday; better than most toy robot films, but that's not a difficult title to achieve. Still prefer Transformers I; passed on the rest.
Also dislike most Matrix films; Existence probably the worst of them, IMO.
Perhaps I need to watch one of my faves again; cleanse the palette, so to speak. Just need to find one I cannot recall that well.

How could you not? The joke of, "The Original Caped Crusader" implies it's not someone who is currently known as the Caped Crusader, ie it ain't Batman. Besides you don't honestly believe Batman is original in his appearance and theme of hiding/leaping from shadow, and or dark places, coming out at night, inspiring fear to all those who would be his enemy do you?
It's just a weird thing to say "Crusader" isn't exactly what I'd ever use to describe Dracula. Hell Dark Knight is a better word for that movie. My other guess was that it was the 1920 horror film "The Bat", but a serial killer in a bat mask isn't really Crusadery either.

LOL
We're arguing about this, okay I'll just admit it was misleading then.

Sorry; hated this film more than any of the rest, and only count the first two as legitimate tales from the series. The whole 1st person running thru corridors is about as nauseating and thrilling as waving your hands by your ears and eyes quickly. At least the next had SW making a reverse basketball shot on the first take.

Also can't forgive the film for casually killing Hicks and Newt. I'm glad Michael Biehn charged them his full fee for just showing his face. That was just an affront to the previous film.

It has been too long ago, but I seem to recall being upset about the cat....

Just rewatched one of my all time favorites. It really is criminally underrated.

Most folks here probably know that The Departed is a remake of Infernal Affairs. I enjoyed the film well enough; I would still give the edge to The Departed (probably that has a lot to do with me having seen The Departed first; I'm bound to view Infernal Affairs through the lens of Scorsese's film). Sometimes, Infernal Affairs can be rather on the nose with scenes clearly stating the Central Conflict and Theme that we're supposed to be grasping in that moment. Whenever a major character dies, we get a quick montage flashback of that character's previous moments in the film, which I thought wasn't necessary. And the music is sometimes overpowering and just not that great. Still, it's tightly plotted, suspensful and well-acted (the cast for this movie was a who's who of Hong Kong cinema), so I'd say that it is worth seeing if you get the chance.

Not a whole lot of good vampire movies out recently so I've been watching oldies.
I also watched Snowpiercer on netflix the other day. Decent movie but the main character was kind of bland.

So nothing supernatural in this movie? The title made me think that.
As for Snowpiercer it's weird and the main gimmick of the train as an allegory feels a bit silly at times.

I had seen the original one when it went out, and thought it was way better thant the scorcese. I watched it again later, and well, it s not as good as i dreamt it was. Both are enjoyable, but the departed is more solid on many aspects
