The raid 2 has some of the best fight choreography i've seen in the last two decades. Especially the kitchen fight.

Guardians of the Galaxy. A bit over-hyped, but entertaining. 7/10.

 

I agree. It was a 8/10 for me, not the great movie everyone was talking about.

 

And I guess I'll rate Hobbit 3, 6/10. Because two people already rate it 5/10 and my rating is a bit easy going!

Just got back from this flick. Very good, surprisingly so. I like this trend by Refn & this film's director (David Robert Mitchell) of paying homage to John Carpenter. Nicely designed plot, with an incredible soundtrack by Disasterpiece.

 

My personal analysis:

I personally think this film is a classic "red-herring" type horror piece, in which the P.O.V. is from a disturbed or mentally deranged individual (Jamie). I talked a bit about it after leaving the theater and decided the characters of Paul & Jeff/Hugh preyed on Jamie and used her (implied) fragility against her. I do NOT believe there was any actual paranormal stuff happening in this film, which is a big part of its brilliance.

 

I have a few things supporting this theory: Jamie has no father, and her mother is constantly drunk. This is not arbitrary, but a symbol for her and her sister's chaotic lifestyle. 95% of the strange phenomena in the film happen with Paul or Jeff nearby or directly involved. Greg is never directly acknowledged as being killed. Paul and Jeff both have sex with her, which (IMO) was their motive all along. Finally, all of the "followers" can be seen, if only as a glimpse, in the theater scene in the first act.

 

All things considered, a damn fine horror film, well directed & acted. 8/10

Just got back from seeing it. It was actually pretty decent and I think they ended it well. Not as good as the first 3, which I think are the best of the 7, (IMO Tokyo Drift was the best) But pretty solid.

 

Guns. Cars. Explosions. Vin, The Rock, Statham. What more do you need?

Neither Nightmare on Elm Street nor Friday the 13th are particularly scary to me, but Freddy and Jason are both really cool characters. I do like Jason a little bit more though, if only because I think his design is better.

It's weird how some companies do that....... I just wish they'd port to all mediums.

 

Like the first Saints Row was heaps fun but console only ....I also liked the very first Dead Rising but that is not PC either.

Furious 7.

I had never watched the series before this week. But my sister always loved them. So I watched all 6 before today.

It's all far better than I had expected.
