I am about to watch this again today later on........ Such a classic.

A great movie that many people will never see. 

 

 

John Carter of Mars (why so afraid of the full title, Disney?) was a decent movie, it's a little unfair that so many people dismiss it as being so cliche of other sci-fi fantasy, when the novels are the ur example for why so many of those cliches came about in the first place?

 

If we didn't have the novels to influence sci-fi and fantasy, we'd not have had Flash Gordon, Superman, Star Wars or Dune... of course, we'd also not have suffered through Avatar, so swings and roundabouts?

Watching Interstellar.........Disk finally arrived

 

Why did they rewrite all the textbooks about the Moon landings?

 

Also right at the beginning of the movie he's talking through the quantum bookshelf....

 

Makes your head spin just thinking about that little gem.

 

But for me why did they rewrite all their history?

A ruined Economy only works with farming. Then construction of cheap buildings and nothing else.

Could technically be considered Post apocalyptic.

 

But with Interstellar it's more in the process of getting there steadily.

Propaganda to influence people to leave exploration for caretaking careers. Sadly, revising history seems to happen more than many realize in film, books, etc.

Yeah I get that but it's a pretty harsh message. So all those years of actual history are written off..... We farm and then the whole planet dies. Good job humans .....

Yes but prior to that the attitude of we do what we do and accept the finality of it.... Just feels like the human race just gives up..

 

There were points in the film where I teared up a little...... It's just finished here and the credits are rolling.

This turned out to be surprisingly good, along with The Theory of Everything.

 

 

Cracked the code, saved an estimated 14 million lives, shortened the war. See, I knew Smaug was a good guy all along.
