I helps if you are British and being a child is a bonus as well.

Paddington is our Teddy. http://en.wikipedia....Paddington_Bear

I read Paddington. And I'm not British. Does that make me cool?

Harry Potter 5 - Another above avg film, but still falls short of drawing the viewer into the film. I am guessing the books are much more mesmerizing, pun intended, - 7/10

Harry Potter 6 - A couple of surprises for those unfamiliar with the books; have me guessing as to the conclusion films. 7/10

I would like to see a movie with these themes revisited in the future with a more realistic and non-horror take on them. A psychological thriller with this concept and ideas would have likely been very entertaining and perhaps even memorable.

Maybe you should watch Flatliners.

Frank Miller used to be really good.

I say "used to", because he's totally banana-balls crazy now. The Dark Knight Returns is one of the greatest Batman, nay, one of the greatest comic book stories of all time.

Personally, I prefer Alan Moore, but I'll gladly give Frank Miller his due where it's deserved.

Speaking of Alan Moore:

watchmen_quad_uk.jpg

I adore the movie adaptation for Watchmen (especially since Alan Moore's stories have had generally poor film interpretations). It's also by FAR the most accurate and faithful comic book movie ever, changing only one major part of the plot and Nite Owl II's costume. A hefty chunk of the dialogue in the movie is ripped straight from the pages of the book.

Ill agree on DKR, and his daredevil run was fantastic. Im personally a Grant Morrison and Warren Ellis fanboy, but yeah. I love watchmen its one of those films that I feel may actually go above the book. Seriosuly, some additions (like having Nite Owl at Rorscarchs death) really improve it. It also has a boss soundtrack and acting. Whoever played Manhatten nailed it

Do you think there is something funny about having admiration for Lester Burnham?

Dredd

A good Judge Dredd film

basically a 90 minute action sequence

Karl Urban is appropriately laconic and Lena Headey is sexy even with a nasty scar on her face

8/10

I loved the movie too but felt Lena Headey was miscast. She didn't do a thing for me and I found her acting a little flat. Now had they cast some other actress like Michell Rodgriquez as the bad guy.. Well I'd have been a hell of a lot more excited.

I love that movie 9/10

Flatliners is terrific but any remake of that would be messed up because modern Hollywood just can't do remakes well.

Do you think there is something funny about having admiration for Lester Burnham?

Kind of. See, my friends and I tried to watch it and it didnt exactly end well. We mostly ended up mocking it. I can see why people like it, but to me it seemed like it tried way to hard to be ¨deep¨ and ¨meaninful¨, like Eyes wide Shut/ A.I. / Rent/ Tree of Life.

The scenes with the teenagers, absolutely.  I actually took great pleasure in the scenes where the teenage boy was abused by his gay dad because he was such a sissy.  The most beautiful thing the pervert has ever filmed is a plastic bag blowing around?

Lester is just a badass guy who does whatever the hell he wants.  He has a couple of monologues perhaps, but that's it.

That is awful...

And yet you continue to apparently indulge this try hard by posting about it all over the forum.  You resent the fact that a handful of my posts are more entertaining, insightful and interesting than all of your 2000+ waste of bytes.

I suggest you respect your betters and read some philosophy, underling.
