I believe it was said somewhere that the Broodmothers are the leaders of the Darkspawn when there is no Old Gods awake. Makes sense since a lot of Darkspawn turned to the Mother in Awakening.

thanks for the info but to be honest I don't think the darkspawn can ever be defeated. And would it be possible for another blight to start I wonder how the taint would treat regular dragons?

No, I meant like while looking for the Old Gods between Blights, the Darkspawn are guided by Broodmothers.

According to the architect his ritual merely included severing the link between the darkspawn and the old gods. If the old gods all die I'm assuming that you have a similar effect, essentially making all the remaining darkspawn into disciples. Now I hope that they only become aware, I would hate for every darkspawn in the world to suddenly become as powerful as disciples because of the last blight ending. Also, I think it was mentioned that darkspawn often band together around the most powerful sample of their own species. That's why they will sometimes form into war bands around ogres and alphas. Or when a broodmother is in a certain location all the darkspawn in that area might follow her.

I think once Resikale and Lusacan get sent off to the Maker by the Wardens all the Darkspawn will go insane, the majority will kill each other and once thats done we will kill whats left then purge the corrupted parts of the Deep roads with Fire, Fire and I am forgetting something...... Oh yeah, MORE FIRE!

In all seriousness they have the largest army on Thedas. Unless the 7th blight takes place on par Vollen (which would probably do what the Chantry and Tevinter have failed to do and put the Qunari down for the count until the Wardens got there) they will pose a major problem once the last archdemon dies.

Ofc this is under the assumption that theres only 7 Old Gods. There might be other Ancient High Dragons Slumbering beneath the earth that No one has any clue about that once the 7 are dead the Darkspawn will begin digging towards to wake up to begin even more Blights.

No they are not

Between Blights the Darkspawn are lead by the Emissaries and the Alphas, which forms the figurheads of warbands that are busy fighting eachother isntead of the surface.

Broodmothers are just ghouls and probably don't have too long of a lifespan or even a mind of their own to ever attain leadership status. Unless they are awakened by the architect's ritual.

Hence me not stating it as fact in my previous post about it.
