I had previously thought they'd have city elves and surface dwarves (along with humans and qunari) so that they'd be able to get a single voice to fit all the races. But it appears that's not the case. I wonder if that means all the races will have unique voices? Interesting.
Elf: Dalish or City?

Not yet added in the current build?
I hope they show the available vallaslin for the Dalish protagonist, and which deity they represent; I'm interested in choosing an appropriate design of blood writing for my Dalish Inquisitor.

Dalish mage sounds pretty awesome to me! They must give us a halla, and it would be cool if we could carve its horns ourselves to look frightening. Or however you want it to look.

They don't have materially a nation right now, but they are all united by the same mindset of what they have lost and wish to recover. They obviously believe they belong to a nation for the elves... Those who are not giving up about their traditions, their rites, their language, their culture. The same for all the clans.
.
Which is not something necessarily negative, particularly for a wandering people, who are forced to change location every now and then,to avoid conflicts whenever they feel threatened. Therefore it isn't surprising for them to seek their roots and cling to the past where they actually belonged somewhere.
Still I'm not denying the presence of some bigots among them, but that doesn't make every single Dalish one.Besides despite their unity,It is guaranteed that you will find different views and mindset even between clan mates.

I wished to know more about the vallaslin and the deities since origins!I hope they'll let us know which one represents which, this time...

Not sure what you're implying here. There's a lot of things I never told in my posts, you're putting words in my mouth. Nowhere I said something was negative, what they did was negative, nowhere, I said all the elves were bigots and there weren't different views even if they hope all for their nation with basically the same ideas. I only said that I hope I can make one nationalist elf. You were surprised I used the word nationalist, ( you told me they don't have a nation ) I gave you an answer. The word nationalist isn't necessarily negative, especially in history.
The Dalishs keep dreaming for their country, this isn't only isolationism for me. Otherwise they wouldn't live always in the past.

I'm really hoping for more options for the vallaslin, because I only ever used two of them. But I am very, very excited for this confirmation. I love the Dalish origin, and I've wanted to play as Dalish mage since Origins, so this is good news indeed!

I mean for those who don't use them I don't want the CC telling me I'm doing it wrong by not inking my Elf like in Origins.

I still hope the Dalish mage and the Dalish non-mage (warrior/rogue) have different backgrounds.

Oh! no need to get defensive here! I didn't put words in your mouth,I simply stated that there are some prejudiced bigots among the Dalish because I believe so,and I don't deny their presence simply because I just happen to love their background and culture. Not sure what you're implying here. Grey morality is an undeniable trait of the DA universe, so you'll find bigots and racists in every corner of the continent of Thedas. And about the nationalism part,I though your tone in your first post was ironic due to most people considering nationalism as something negative for their own reasons.I apologise if I misinterpreted it,written text can be tricky to interpret sometimes.(I was surprised with the word "nationalism" beacause where I come from we use different terminology for "nations" and people who have the same "ethnic identity" which is practically what the dalish are...)
The elves always followed an isolationist policy, which is usually considered as hostility by the humans.Particularly now that they're homeless wanderers, the would isolate themselves even further, mostly for their own safety.

Believe I mentioned this before, but once again: if you're an elf, you're Dalish.
Still - you could be a Dalish City Elf - born amongst a vast sea of high-rise aravels.

I'd heard Mages would be Dalish (if not Human or Qunari) but Elven Rogues. and Warriors too? Huh.

You mean, coming from different clans based on the background, or the role they might play in the rumored peace meeting based on the background?

So how do we explain the lack of tats on our Elves?
Don't Dalish only get them when they are considered adults? I remember Camlen was still considered a child and didn't have any tattoos. You could also be a City Elf who ran away to join the Dalish and just hadn't gotten them yet.

Even though the city elf is in a similar setting, I feel that being a female in that origin as to a male is a bit more darker. This is my second favorite Origin but only as a female. First is the human noble, but that is a different tale.

Either way is fine. An elf mage and a non-mage elf wouldn't necessarily have the same experiences.

The Dalish Mage will probably be a First or something while a Dalish Warrior/Rogue will be like they were in Origins.

I like this, if there really is going to be some peace summit involved that would be ripped apart by the Veil tearing, it would make sense that the Dalish would show up, seeing as to how even they might start feeling the sting of the now renegade templar factions who have gone to hunt mages on their own standing, especially in the Hinterlands where the Dalish have started settling permanently in the land provided for them after the Fifth Blight ends.

Nooooo.! Ugh I really wanted to be a City elf rogue ): but I guess I can warm up to being a Dalish.. This is a let down but not a deal breaker at all, just a preference that will not be included. I hope to god that we won't have an accent & if we do I hope that it's only slight. Sigh.
It's a let down, but I hope it's a good thing. A city elf mage wouldn't make sense, and having all elves be dalish allows them to allocate more resources towards really fleshing out the Dalish origin story (since they have double the resources!) I'd rather have one really great origin than two good ones. Hopefully it means we also get a Dalish accent!

How would a City Elf not have made sense?
