Or do you think we'd see dalish spells (plant spells from awakening) in a spec OR do you think it may be introduced into the primal tree?
I'm thinking a separate spec/tree.

So does everyone think we'll get a specific skill set according to race/class?

Oh,I hope so!I want to bring summon sylvans as well. It'd be fun!Though I have the impression that specializations will be changed,I don't know from where though...

It's alright, not that big of a problem. I mean yea it could be for a good origin story but I got the feeling it would just be copying the one from DA:O to be honest. The Dalish on the other hand they are already a close group, so I think they could have more story advantages for a Dalish then a City Elf.

I believe it was stated, that we won't have detailed origin stories though, but our race and class will play a big role on the events, npc reactions etc...

I always thought summoning sylvans would be awesome.Oh,I hope so!I want to bring summon sylvans as well. It'd be fun!Though I have the impression that specializations will be changed,I don't know from where though...
But after reading WoT and how the dalish view spirits/demons in general....I thought maybe it wouldn't fit with a standard dalish Mage.
Obviously however, when a dalish Mage is angry, they seem to be able to do some pretty nasty magics with spirits. Zathrian + curse, Velanna summoning sylvans to attack the humans. Even little Merrill sought power from a demon even if her intentions were good...

Yeah, it seems they are going the Mass Effect route regarding backstories.

In a way, I don't mind it either as it leaves your character's past still pretty much blank so you can import your own ideas into it.

Oh If we're given the option I'm definitely going to summon some sylvans to assist my quizzy!I wonder how someone learns to shapeshift though does it require a deal with a demon or spirit or something?

If the Dalish inquisitor had followed the Dalish import whether from the US point of view or the DR, would this reflect and how the Dalish acted now? What with the ten year gathering and all, would this not motivate them in some way? Or maybe others might be motivated enough to end any possibility of a similarly Inspirational person and prevent such a character as the Dalish Warden becoming a constant historical reminder which the Chantry would have to acknowledge? The sight of an elven Inquisitor would be a reminder that history was repeating itself. I liked the CE Origin very much, but it sounds to me like the Dalish option is a good story.
Just like I think history will remember Anders as a Mage who was also a Grey Warden who blew up the chantry. Not a healer, not an apostate, not a human. History could forget these details, but that would depend on whose perspective you look from.

I'm a bit disappointed. I prefer City Elves over Dalish Elves anyday, but at least I'll actually get to play as an elf, so the long run I'm cool with it.

Possible, but it seems unlikely given the City Elf focus. Personally, I'd rather the Dalish get their own entry than have them tacked onto someone else's story.
I agree, but that's not to say I don't want the City Elves to not ask for Dalish assistance or anything. I want the Cities to deal with their rebellion, and have the option, much like going to the Circle for help with Connor, of going to the Dalish and requesting their aid, but only if they have already been helped or something. That way, it's not just slightly more time consuming to get the 'best result', but actually requires some planning.

If the sylvans aren't possessed by spirits, but rather controlled by the mage (a little like Full Metal Alchemist), that might explain how Velanna was able to command the trees to do her bidding (given what WoT has addressed about the Dalish and spirits).

Fullmetal is one word, not two. ![]()
And what power from FMA are you comparing it too?

In the anime, when Van summoned constructs that resembled his son Al to fight the homunculi (when confronting Dante).

Ah, I was thinking of the manga and it's anime Brotherhood, and not the 2003 version. Yeah, that works as a comparison.

That scene was memorable for me. I know there are some variations between the two (as in most manga to anime adaptions). I also think Scar would be an interesting template for a Dalish protagonist.

Yeah, FMA: Brotherhood follows the manga while the 2003 version started but diverted greatly due to the manga not being even close to done at the time.
Hmm, yeah Scar would make an interesting Dalish. *now wants X across forehead as a scar/tattoo option*

The Dalish proved their worth time and again, from Iloren and his people fighting darkspawn in the Anderfels during the Second Blight to the clans fighting the darkspawn during the Fifth Blight when The Warden petitions them for aid.
Ahem no.
The Dales were entire neutral in the second blight, WOT confirmed it.
And that's assuming the player goes that route.
So not really helpful in either case you mentioned.

Iloren and his people fighting the darkspawn aren't addressed in WoT, which condensed a great deal of information, and didn't cover some areas. It's why elven figures during the war with the Dales aren't covered as well, like elven general Rajmael.
You don't like the Dalish. You've made that abundantly clear in multiple threads, repeatedly. I don't see the point in you starting arguments in threads about a group you clearly have nothing but disdain for.

Them fighting a small incursion into their territory in a single battle doesn't confirm much beyond them engaging a single finger of the Horde once.
WOT made note of however their lack of action while the Blight was ravaging the world around them.
You know they actually bothered to to cover that bit despite you know, them limiting elven perspective or whatever.
And starting an argument? No merely pointing out incorrect information.
