Damn, it's true. We'll know if ogre-hunting becomes a tradition. Or maybe Morrigan will help us. Last time a main character impressed her, she wanted expensive jewellery.

I really hope it does. Or like you said, maybe Morrigan decides to take after her mother in this regard.

The theory was that whatever event that occured did so at basically a UN meeting.  If this is true, it may stand to reason that human nobles, magisters, and mages, qunari representatives, and Dalish and Dwarves would be there, but not city elves.  Except as a servant.

And wouldn't that be a fun story?

Yesterday, I was sweeping your floors and carrying your luggage.  Today, I'm saving the world.

Indeed! It's the main reason I love the City Elf Origin, especially when walking into the Landsmeet. A lowly elven servant that cleaned nobles' castles all her life now gets to stand before them in their highest court decision. For once, an elf gets to take center stage while human nobles have to sit back as her actions determine their fate. It was the most glorious feeling in the world.

For that reason, I was bummed to learn City Elf won't be a playable option for Inquisition. But then elves are still the underdogs of surface Thedas society, so there's that. Plus, an elf's an elf. I'd rather play an elf (or dwarf or grey giant) over a human any day.

But I also have a feeling (after reading some spoilers in here) that a Dalish inquisitor will not have an easy time negotiating/interacting with humans especially in orlais.

Ugh, I guess I'm going to have to leave Dalish threads for the next few weeks to avoid Masked Empire spoilers.

Such is the elven lot. =/

Oh well. I like playing the underdog that rises above society's prejudices and restrictions, rather than a privileged high-born who already has society's benefits without working to earn it.

While I acknowledge that the Dalish have done a good deal of digging themselves into a giant hole, I don't think humanity would really like them much better if they spent their days distributing candy and saving kittens.

I think the opposite, and i think a good deal of Monarchies would think so as well if the chance occurred.

Elves can be useful.

But this speculation can wait for a rainy day.

Fair enough. We'll argue later.

It is,In this case...Per usual though, isn't a term I would use in a universe characterised by grey morality like the DA setting. We don't have the good humans and the bad elves here,we have two opposing factions, who both have their rights and faults.

I said nothing of morality friend.

I said they continually ruin themselves.

Which they do from my perspective.

That may be so,though what I wanted to point out was that the don't always "ruin themselves",sometimes the opposing faction, contributes to it as well.

Given the rampant racism and intolerance towards elves and "heathens", I suspect the Dalish Inquisitor will have some difficulty in dealing with Andrastian humans who might see the elves as "less than people". That should make for an interesting narrative.

Of course this will also play a big role, but according to some spoilers about the masked empire, the Dalish brought themselves in an even more difficult position after a certain event.

Spoiler

This will definitely make a Dalish playthrough very interesting, personally I'm looking forward to it.

That was one clan; I think it's likely the Dalish Inquisitor could represent a clan that's nothing like them.

It seems so I like what I've read about Briala so far...She is very interesting.
To be honest I hope the Dalish pc's clan is nothing like them as well.Otherwise my Dalish pc would have to be the exception, which is not what I'd like to see.

Well, maybe with her help the Dalish will understand, that they won't get anything done without uniting with their city brethren. That Elvhen separation is playing right into human's hand.
