So, I've just found an advertisement spammer on the forums(that didn't take long).

I hopped onto their profile to report them but I had trouble finding the report button for a few seconds, until I realized it was way down low on the bottom right, not standing out in any easy way.

Is there gonna be better placement for this button/functionality in the future or is it always gonna be stuck down in the corner? For a while there I thought it was impossible to report an advert spammer and I thought I would have to send someone a private message about it. Realizing we are now long past the days of private message reporting, I figured the report user button had to be somewhere but digging for it seemed odd as I think it would be proactive to make it easier to find.

Yeah, and where is the report button for Group's? I couldn't find it, if there even is one.

With the new improvements to moderating, I would figure the part that we forumites can do on our end would be more prominent than tossed to the side to be luckily come across.

I actually think the Report Member button is placed well enough. Better than having it right in my face all the time where I might actually click on it by accident. A report group button I couldn't find either.

If a single button click reported a user and that was that, I would support your assertion, but reporting a user requires multiple. To successfully report someone, you have to click the report user button, then give a reason why you're reporting them, then click send report.

No one is going to do all that accidentally, so better placement of the button seems necessary in my eyes. Looking at the profile page of a user, I would place it to the right of "Add as a Friend" "Send Message" and "Find Content"

I would also have it as an option underneath "Find Content" and "Send Message" when you are hovering over a user's name on a page much like this one.

I took an Applied Web Design class back in my last year of high school so I notice when things feel out of place a few times, hahaha.

My point was more that I hate clicking on buttons by accident and then having to cancel something or having to go back, rather than actually reporting someone by accident. And the forums and places I hang out in online have moved their report buttons out of every day clicking activity's reach. So I don't know what they've been teaching you in that class

Did. High school was years ago. :P

Point is, it is really out of the way and hard to find. I don't feel it should be. If Bioware wants users to help keep the forums clean with a positive attitude, we can do that. Sometimes folks won't do that and will step out of line in whatever rule-breaking way, or will exist just to spam advertisements(shakes fist). For mods to do anything they either need to catch it themselves or have it reported to them. Can't report it if its hard to do so. The button is pretty much invisible where it is currently.

personally, I think it's good where it is. I mean, it's right there on the profile so scrolling is a good start to find it. Besides that, I think it is good that people need to think about reporting users before doing so. A brightly visible button is way more tempting in the most ridiculous cases than a button you have to look for

I would rather a user send a report about someone cool that won't be taken seriously than a user not send a report about an actual problematic user because they can't find the button and don't know where to look for it.

I do. I have faith in them using the button correctly if they can find it.

I actually think it is placed well. The report a member feature will probably be one of the most underused features on this website. Which makes sense from a user interface perspective of having the features that are mostly used larger and louder.

That spammer had a plethora of reports (Thanks!!) so I don't know if it is actually that much of a concern.
