I'm sure we will have plenty of morally grey, conflicted antagonists. The Red Templar will probably not be that, however.

Same. I could see the Red Templars representing the "evil" splinter of the Templars, whose actions are perhaps condemned by the regular faction. I'm hoping it's not as black and white as that, but we'll see. But I can certainly see the Red Templars being a faction that's primarily there for us to kill, whereas maybe we can gain the support (or ire?) of the main group through our actions in story. Am interested to see how it all pans out.

I think he is saying that, because those leak pics from  before , show the red temps having a base with red tents. So in this Dales picture..from afar you see red tents, so that could be why he is inclined  to think they are red Templar .
