eww
But hey, offscreen footage.
It's not the sword bro, it's the swordster
It is absolutely the sword, hahaha
Not even a single mention of Oghren?
BOOOOOOOOO
I'm a little concerned that many of the videos seem to show the Inquisitor on their own when they are exploring/having conversations, with companions only appearing when combat happens.
I realise this has been confirmed to be the mechanic when the Inquisitor is mounted - and was planning on not using mounts for this reason - but am now wondering if this is going to be the mechanic all the time. The player character wandering around alone and companions only magically appearing when needed. Does anyone know whether this is likely to be the case?
Yeah, it certainly seems like the Inquisitor is alone until he/she is in a battle, but if that's the case, what about banters and the more common comments about different stuff we encounter in the area we explore? I'm a bit confused about that myself.
By the way, that BlackWall shot is amazing. Kudos to the one who took it.
I don't know, but I don't think that will be the case, Forias.
I'm pretty sure that in the video above you can see the rest of the party standing around behind the Inquisitor when he turns around, on mounts of their own no less. They're just further back than in the earlier games.
EDIT: Oops. IB is just such a mountain of a man that I thought I saw him sitting on a horse.

Well, you can see for yourself:
<>Dwarfisitor turns around and you can see the followers. Frankly, it was always the case that you couldn't see them running behind you (unless you switch the camera mode), you just knew they were there.
In all the demos this week the camera has always been really zoomed in too, maybe in case the companion AI breaks or something. Probably just to show off the detail on the character rather than 4 blobs running around Redcliffe
Thanks for the replies and for pointing me at the right spot in the demo. Appreciate it.
Added another image of Blackwall above
When the party walken up the snowypath, I thoght about lord of the rings.
Solas/legolas walking on the snow while the the rest had to trudge throu it.
(am I going crazy?)

Nope, that was probably deliberate. But hey, consider it a homage to the fantasy genre's ur-adventurer party. ![]()
But hey, offscreen footage.
I am really digging the voices for Ironbull and Sera ^^
Well, we'll get more to listen to down the line. And much more to look at and discover.

Tbh, my first thought was the Sacred Ashes trailer for Origins.

The influence of LotR was strong in DA:O... ![]()
DAO was inspired by both Lord of The Rings as well as A Song of Ice and Fire.
STRONG pedigree there.

Only partially agree. LotR's influence is mostly visually and by way of the Jackson movies and mostly discernible in DA:O; and much of this visual influence seems to have petered out i DA2 and DA:I.
ASoIaF's is also limited to some plot furniture and a few terms ('ser'). The bulk comes from elsewhere, and lies more in the direction of D&D and its offshoots.
Just being my nitpicky self ![]()
Seeing all that juicy detailed character models and environments still makes me giddy!
I'm so used to DA's graphics being something i needed to look past to enjoy the game.

I'm going by what they said pre-DAO.
