leliana is a master spy who would have suggested that she go so it's her own fault for getting caught and she should have been aware of that so she can't get all 'how dare you' when she knows the risks of working with the inquisition

 

We don't know she suggested it. I don't think a good spymaster would look at every situation and suggest that her going on a sneaky spy mission is the appropriate response, simply because she is the spymaster.

 

I also found the "You're alive? Do you have weapons?" bit intriguing. I think the situation was more than just: Inquisitor sent Leliana on an intelligence mission and she got caught.

Bear in mind that i) we might not even have seen all of the things going on in these scenes if they cut out a significant line or three (as they would if it were an important spoilery bit) because they can totally do that; and ii) the finished game might end up showing Leilana more battered, the same way we might see the characters facing the right way in fights and archers with quivers.

Come on you guys, you know when a woman is beaten within a inch of her life, her hair and makeup is always going to stay in perfect shape. I mean, how are men suppose to swoon over her is she looked ugly and disheveled! She's got to look sexy when she's captured and chained up! edit: you know what would have rounded this out nicely, if she was topless like that woman you rescue in the Witcher 2, or in a sex slave outfit like Princess Leia.

Oh, come on. Leliana is not the baroness de la Valette, or some hapless female spy or resistance fighter tortured during World War II by the Germans. She, like all the other playable and ex-playable characters in DA, is a superhero.

And a superhero is practically untouchable when it comes to torture. A couple of beads of sweat or a tiny trickle of blood from the corner of the mouth is about the maximum.

 

 

It only doesn't look good if you assume torture in DA has to look somewhat realistic / believable.

true tho I was more suggesting on the whole you sent her in so u get punished because she got caught and that shouldn't happen since she knows the risks of her profession .

but the whole I thought u were dead does suggest she may have gone off on her own or accompanied the inquisitor for which she still doesn't get the right to be angry for her capture

Well, she didn't go out on her own. Laidlaw stated she was ordered to. I was just saying that there is more to the situation. Like, say, if she had objected to this particular mission, because she thought it was too risky and overall a bad idea, then she would have every right to be mad and say "I told you so."
