So much for "awesome PC news"... It's fine, I suppose, but I really wanted to see some M+KB gameplay... Anyways, more Chargen is always good. I just hope they'll let us hear the other VAs this time around.

Man, I've gone dark for a little bit with DA and holy hell is there a ton of stuff to catch up on
I might stay dark though, feels nice not knowing every little detail before launch
Note- I love that Bioware went with the cozy sit down Twitch stream and showed off the game a bit before launch. ![]()

I have to say this and I don't care what the turn based tactical lovers have to say. I am starting to get somewhat annoyed with all the gameplay I see lately.
This is a guy playing on Normal, I assume. He runs out of potions and his team is always at a low health. This isn't fun at all. It is nothing but a nuisance.
When playing on normal or casual all party members health should go back to full health after a "battle". So you can always go in with full health and THEN worry about staying alive in the combat. With the limited potions and seeing how your party members always take a crapload of damage in just silly little NON boss fights, that is enough, you still have the fear of running out of potions for IN GAME combat. I hear even casual game mode only have 50% or so back to health after revived when a battle is done. That is just a constant abuse of limited potions.
Even I, use the tactical screen when facing big bosses to help out the fight a little bit. But casual fights like this in the video, I shouldn't have to. Why do the party members take such extreme damage to "pleb mobs". It boggles my mind. It literally forces you to down 4 out of 8 potions after the FIRST battle to be back to full strength. So 2 battles and you are out of potions. Honestly what possessed you to do this Bioware? Mind you I AM talking about "normal game mode here, hell even casual supposed easy mode.
People that play tactical screen and pause to play turn based can have their higher difficulties to do this. I am not a tactical player I love real time combat. I don't want to feel I am playing with a crippled team every SINGLE ENCOUNTER. I want my team at full health going into the battle and then use potions as they WILL take damage.
Seeing this video and even others they are constantly damaged.
I feel they punish players that just want to focus on their own Inquisitor and play in realtime. Do not force me into that "tactical" screen. Bioware why can't you ever learn? People complained about the lack of tactical in DA2, that is fine I believe they SHOULD have full tactical. That doesn't mean everyone of us want to use it.
I loved DA 2 combat, it was fast visceral and I could play my OWN character and not pause the game all the time.
I mean the guy in the video is fighting plebs, random non important enemies. I can't even begin to imagine how screwed you'd be playing real time against a boss.
Also, the damage seems extremely weak. I see 4 team members hacking away on a single enemy and he won't go down. Are they using foam bats and rainbow magic to HEAL the enemy instead of doing damage?
This is what DIFFICULTY LEVELS ARE FOR....
I do not want "easy" combat, but I also want to feel like I am doing damage and not have a team with 25% health before going into every single battle. If I use the potions I just end up with nothing and then perhaps screwed at the next battle. Then the awesome FUN of restarting from earlier saves with STILL LIMITED health potions begin.
So just have the simple part that in normal or casual have the team members regenerate to full health between battles.
If I want punish game play I play Dark souls.
As much as I hate to admit it, I kind'a agree and disagree with this guy. I agree that it sucks that you have to down potions all the damn time. However, I don't agree with the hoarding of health potions and elfroot (because, hey, it's there... Why not uhhhhhhh.... Use it?). On my origins character I think I finally stopped with something like 36 full health potions? That's ridiculous. However, it does seem kind'a grindy to make us go and search all over for those ingredients as well.
So, I dunno. I'm kind'a torn. One thing that I've never ever been good at is tactics. First, do this, second do this, third do this. Oh and if main character gets attacked at any time, defend him/her. More times than not I've had a character standing there doing a weapons stance dance (switching from melee to ranged and back and forth) every time I've tried to use that.
EDIT : And by tactics, I mean tactics in the game (default key \ I think). I'm fine if I pause the game every two seconds, but that kind'a breaks immersion.
I'm just happy that I've ordered the companion guide. Hopefully that'll give me some useful pointers.

Those gameplay videos don't accurately reflect the difficulty of the game. I do great on normal mode until someone comes in the room and tries to talk with me, then my attention becomes divided. Bad things happen then. Those gameplay videos, the guys playing them are more focused on showing off gameplay features or answering people's questions then they are at actually playing.

Check out the first look at the beautiful PC version of Dragon Age: Inquisition! Screenshots, system reqs, & more: http://bit.ly/1s2VxKI
First Dragon Age: Inquisition PC screenshots, system requirements and hands-on!
Sprawling hills, green pastures, flowing rivers, lots of demons – The Hinterlands of Ferelden are a lovely place. Not that other regions of Thedas are better off. Rifts that link the physical world to the demonic Fade have appeared across the land, allowing hideous monsters to pour through and terrorize as they please. To make matters worse, mages and templars cut each other down at every turn, leaving plenty of collateral damage in their wake. Now, as the leader of the newly-formed Inquisition, it’s up to you and your band of heroes to strengthen your cause through politics and battle and put an end to all the chaos. You’ll need a sharp tongue and a sharper blade if you’re to succeed – thankfully, Dragon Age: Inquisition, a massive RPG by the developers at BioWare, gives you all the tools you’ll need to restore order.
We recently got a hands-on look at the PC version of Dragon Age: Inquisition to get a sense of everything it has to offer. And because BioWare is a developer whose roots are in PC gaming, you can bet this version of Inquisition is the real deal. It's fine-tuned for excellent mouse and keyboard play; it's got dozens of visual and interface options to tweak; and, of course, it's got 4K resolution and AMD Mantle support for the hardcore rig-building crowd. In fact, we’ve teamed up with BioWare to reveal the very first screenshots of the PC version, along with its HUD and system requirements, all of which you’ll find below. But first, let's talk about how the game plays on PC.
During our time in The Hinterlands, we had a nasty run-in with some demons of the Fade. Using the WASD keys for movement, we charged our maul-wielding warrior into the fray, activated one of his abilities via the sleek PC action bar and smashed an enemy square in the face, incapacitating it for a short time. Unfortunately our rogue, a ranged character with a crossbow, was himself the target of some stab-happy monsters. So we quickly switched control over to our tank by clicking on her portrait, and commanded her to taunt the nearby enemies. All was going well – until our party got annihilated by the spellcaster demon, who wiped us from afar with a giant beam of magic. Ouch.
Round Two. This time, we knew we had to focus the caster demon and prevent it from destroying the whole party. As soon as it spawned we switched to the Tactical View by scrolling back on the mouse wheel. With a top-down perspective of the battlefield, we paused the game to plan the attack and strategize on a deeper level. Our rogue dealt bonus damage as long as he was at a higher elevation than his target, so we commanded him to move to a nearby hill. We set our tank to taunt the mage to draw its attention, freeing up our caster and warrior to dish out some damage. After our plan was set in motion, we resumed the action.
Our strategy went off without a hitch. Almost. The enemy spellcaster was hitting hard, so we had to lock it down if we were to prevail. Thankfully our mage and two-handed warrior each had a stun ability. With a few strategic pauses and action commands (plus plenty of potion chugging), we successfully took out the threat. Of course, strategic RPG combat is but a fraction of what Inquisition has to offer. There are massive regions to explore. There are tons of characters to meet and companions to befriend. And there are tough, world-altering decisions to be made. All in a day's work for the Inquisitor.
But now it's time for the real question: does your gaming rig have the (literal) guts to command the Inquisition? If you're looking to crank the settings up a bit, here are the recommended system specs:
Recommended:
OS: Windows 7 or 8.1 64-bit
CPU: AMD six core CPU @ 3.2 GHz, Intel quad core CPU @ 3.0 GHz
System RAM: 8 GB
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7870 or R9 270, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660
Graphics Memory: 3 GB
Hard Drive: 26 GB
DirectX 11
Or, if you're playing on a slightly older setup, here are the minimum system requirements:
Minimum:
OS: Windows 7 or 8.1 64-bit
CPU: AMD quad core CPU @ 2.5 GHz, Intel quad core CPU @ 2.0 GHz
System RAM: 4 GB
Graphics CARD: AMD Radeon HD 4870, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
Graphics Memory: 512 MB
Hard Drive: 26 GB
DirectX 10
The PC version of Inquisition gives you complete control over the look and feel of the game – a true testament to BioWare's love for PC gaming. In fact, the developers are so passionate about it that they agreed to let us come up to their studio and talk to them about their legacy, heritage and commitment to making sure the PC version is one that’ll make you weak in the knees.
Good stuff, yeah? Dragon Age: Inquisition launches on November 18. We know, we know, that feels like an eternity from now. But don't sweat it! In the meantime, check out (or replay) Dragon Age: Origins, our latest On the House offer. You can download and own it right now for free! Playing through Origins is not at all necessary for understanding the events of Inquisition, but it's a great experience that will provide additional context to the world and its rich history.
And don't forget to pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition of Dragon Age: Inquisition for some awesome bonus weapons, armor and mounts that'll make your Inquisitor rule with an iron fist (while riding a Bog Unicorn, naturally). We'll see you in Thedas.
