I will say I was glad to see the table in action and that we still have "areas" and not just a big Skyrim-ish type map. I hate the tiny feel of Skyrim. Yes, I know folks think it is big but since I can walk the whole thing in like 7 minutes it feels small to me.

The soldiers Cullen was commanding had Templar shields. Placeholders or evidence of the rumored option to recruit either Templars or mages?
Also, the ones kneeling before the blonde mage attacked Varric also seemed to be Templars but they could, as far as we know, be kneeling before the Elder One.

Ok, is that our warden/or a warden with a dog mask on, or could it be Alistair?
Is that the warden shown with Lady Hawke? Or is that Alistair as a Grey Warden?

The one next to Hawke is not our Warden from DAO. We don't know who it is, but we have that little detail confirmed.

That person next to Hawke IS a Warden. Just not our Warden.
Likely a new character.
