Who is it? Varric and...?
Cassandra and an elf I think
Varric, Cassandra, and an Elven mage.
Yep, definitely the Elven Mage.
Cassandra looks great ![]()
BALD (male) ELF GUY... WITH HAIR?! Holy YEAH if that is the case... I am so happy!

There's a clearer version of this screenshot somewhere in the forums, and it definitely looks like he's still bald.
There is already a topic on the bald elf matter. The mods can just delete this one please. ![]()
I'm kinda hoping that shale will be back and playable again (I loved using that giant rock in DAO)
other than that I pretty much arnt bothered so long as it follows the same game style, would be nice if it has an MP element similar to the way they did with ME3 (cos that system rocked) which would add a whole new element to the game franchise and of course Bioware (EA) would be able ot monetise item packs for the MP element of the game (so long as its just an addon feature)
lets hope the game is released soon and plays well on all platforms ![]()
So to update our current companion count:
Varric - male dwarf rogue (confirmed)
Cassandra - female human warrior (confirmed)
Vivienne - female human mage (confirmed)
Grey Warden - male human warrior (semi-confirmed through gameplay footage)
"Sera" - female elf rogue (?) (semi-confirmed through gameplay footage - name speculated from character survey)
Bald Elf Guy - male elf mage (semi-confirmed through gameplay footage)
"Iron Bull" - male qunari warrior (?) rogue (?) - speculated from concept art and character survey
Cullen - male human warrior - speculated from concept art, character survey, and voice actor confirmation
Cole - male spirit rogue (?) mage (?) - speculated from character survey
Dorian - male race unknown mage - speculated from character survey
Moustached Gentleman - male human warrior (?) mage (?) - speculated from concept art and character survey
And what to take from this:
We know that there will be about the same number of companions. I've seen 9 bandied about, but I'm not sure if that's been confirmed. There are 11 people listed above, so it's likely that at least two of them are not companions. It's also possible that more than that aren't and there might be other companions that we haven't seen at all yet.
As of right now, we have 6 companions at least "semi"-confirmed because we've seen them all as companions in gameplay footage. That count is 3 males, 3 females; 2 warriors, 2 rogues, and 2 mages; 3 humans, 2 elves, and 1 dwarf.
Seems pretty balanced. I'm anxiously waiting for more tidbits to finally figure out who our remaining companions will be!

The number nine comes from the official website - http://www.dragonage.com/ - where on the game info tab if you scroll down to the picture of Morrigan, it says "Lead a party of nine unique, fully realized characters - each of whom reacts to your actions and choices differently, forming complex relationships both with you and with each other."
This has lead many to assume that we'll be getting three of each class; three warriors, three rogues, three mages. I myself do not agree with this line of thinking as I don't believe Bioware will ever allow for a party of nothing but mages to happen. Whether we'll get four warriors or four rogues, I couldn't say, but I seriously doubt we'll be getting three mages.
I also doubt that this count includes potential DLC companions, or potential secret companions.
You've also got to factor in that Bio has a tendency for "red shirt" companions to die early in the game.
Hell, I'd really be disappointed if it doesn't happen this time. In general, though, they often give you a hint; those are not the ones they tend to run a lot of promo videos, outfit-character kits, etc. for.

Oh if anything I honestly think it's gonna be too obvious for this one, providing this first fade tear battle of which the Inquisitor will be the only survivor does indeed turn out to be the new Ostagar.
I've seen some speculation that Dorian and the mustachioed gentleman are one and the same.
I think that's the case myself.
It'd be great if in some way Anders would make an appearance! I mean.. If you import your character from DA2 and you let him live then I think it'd be pretty cool if he was somehow included because in my opinion, he was a great character~
Not a fan of Anders, myself, but I wouldn't mind him showing up for imports where he's still alive- in fact I think it would be disappointing if he didn't show up in those imports.
But I certainly would not want to see him as a companion. Didn't want him as a companion in DAII, either. I have this thing where I want the Warden's team to be the Warden's team, Hawke's team to be Hawke's team, and the Inquisitor's team to be the Inquisitor's team, with as little overlap as possible.
So...
First row confirmed
Second row semi-confirmed
Third row pure fun and speculation. Do you think at least one in the last row is going to be a companion?

Varic dyed his hair lol
World is in chaos yet he finds time to visit the barber. Funny guy.
At this point i think it is safe to say qunari is in the second row. This dude in the middle is looking like dwarf, but probably is bad concept of the warden.
I really hope for hot blonde chick (elve or no), so Sera or w/e better have dem looks. And next most wanted characters are moustache guy (so classy) and tev magister (that would be extremely cool, plus he will tell tev stories which will get us pumped up for DA4, which is almost certainly taking place there, cmon its just common sense)
If this is Cullen on the 3 row, you can put him on newly established 4 row, just for him. I think he will not be companion. Rogue will take his place probably. I am really into speculating about this stuff, so i will give it a try one more time:
W R M
Cassandra Blonde elf Tev. Magister-moustache guy
Qunari Leliana (BOOM) Elf Male
Grey Warden Varic Vivienne
I think i am 7/8 in this one. Now if leliana is not there, i would some other female rogue. Now my other guess is...
W R M
Cassandra Blondie Moustache
Qunari Moustache Elf Male
Cullen Varic Vivienne
Grey Warden
This moustache guy can be mage or rogue. I like his style though, better be companion. In my first main guess i am thinking he is the Tev,Magister.
My guess would be:
Cassandra
Varric
Vivienne
Grey warden
Sera (blonde female elf)
Bald elven mage
Cullen
Cole (for that 1 special non human companion)
unknown female?
Because devs mentioned that they don't know who Dorian is, I think he was probably (sadly:() scrapped completely. Seems a little odd they would keep the concept and just change the name...
I also think Iron Bull could be just an important NPC(or antagonist), he looked menacing in the trailer and was always shown alone in the concept and screenshots.
He was shown on some concept art standing behind inquisitor along side some female rogue with ponytail. Or maybe it was this elven guy with the ponytail. And Leliana appears in two sceenshots next to inquisitor and other confirmed companions. The more i think about it Leliana will be a companion, or close npc. Two concept featuring her cannot be coincidence. Look how DAII ended.....I think the companion from asunder will be Leliana, because despite her being from origins, they avoid telling us "Some1 is back from DAO" because community will figure it out too quickly. Telling some1 is coming back from asunder they give space for a lot of speculation.
If i am not 7/8 right in my previous posts about companions i will eat my shoe. I think i nailed them down.
And the so called scribe girl...its just vivienne people....Look at Cassandra, on concepts, you can barely tell its her, if not for her clotches and stern look.
I still can't see Cullen as a companion, considering that Cassandra fully occupies his slot as a returning character pro-Templar human fighter LI. Doubt they'd mirror her with male version, which would be Cullen.

Cassandra seems more Pro-Chantry than Pro-Templars, and considering the two are no longer together it can result in differing ideologies.

Still too close, imho, but believe all you like. I merely stated my opinion, i know he has a fandom.
