We've seen him in art, and now we see him in action. Who is this bald man?

If you add a '/' before the last 'img', OP, the image will display. ![]()

Looks like the bald elf mage from the concept art.
I'd prefer if they gave him some hair like in the war room concept, I think it's better than him being completely bald. Just reminds me of Zathrian too much:S

Totally agreed! I only just twigged that the clothing buildup images they released months ago seem to be this same guy, and I remember at the time going 'man, without hair that random NPC looks way too Zathrian-like'. I do hope they go with the concept-art hair instead :S

Sorry, I forgot to add that the '/' needs to go inside the '[' and ']', but before the 'img' for the image to display. That may be the issue.
Edit - Beat me to it. ![]()

I doubt elves can be Tevinter Magisters.

That's probably just NPC clothing. They had bald men as character placeholders in DA2 too.
But I think it's possible that this compaqnion gets hair again. The look of Fenris changed almost until release so we can hope ![]()

Fenris' sister was going to be a magister.

Since Varania (Fenris's sister) betrays him on the promise that she could have been made a Magister herself, I suspect this is untrue. She's lived in Tevinter all her life and would presumably know better if it was an impossible promise. I don't doubt they're rare as all get out, though.
That said, if I had to guess who Dorian-the-Magister is between this guy and the man with the moustache in the concept art, Mr. Moustache wins every time. I don't think this guy is the magister.
Edit: regarding the clothing post - that's what I wrote it off as, too, but the model has the same fur-over-shoulder thing going on that Baldy has in his War Room concept art.

Here's hoping!
That braid/ponytail he has in the War Room concept art would be perfect.

He's Merris, a Tevinter pariah, cast out of the Imperium for practicing spirit healing.

Whoever he is, he's probably EEEEEEEEEEVIL. Dragon Age has a long-standing tradition of evil bald characters.
Uldred? Evil. Ser Alrik? Evil. Caladrius? Evil. Zathrian? Not truly evil, but definitely antagonistic. Orsino? He was balding, and appropriately, he was just somewhat evil by virtue of colluding with a serial killer. It was only when he lost all his hair by turning into the Harvester that he embraced his true evil nature. And let's not forget every single darkspawn, who are a whole race of evil baldies.
Viscount Dumar was the sole non-evil chrome dome. And he was just sort of ineffectual.

They already have a girl elf that does that, as far as I remember.

In the PAX demon her hair is pretty "normal" though.

I agree, he looked great in the War Room concept art, not as "Zathrian" in that picture.

Yeah, the old black hair version of elf girl predates DA2 IIRC, she was one of the stock characters for some sort of previs thing. Looks like maybe they liked it enough to transfer over to this dude instead.

He's not ugly at all. Just because you don't find him appealing, doesn't mean others will feel the same way.
