I am intrigued by Mr. Bald Elf. His design/my guesses about what an elf mage's world views would be makes me think he'll be a more serious character with more neutral world views (like Zevran or Fenris as opposed to Alistair or Aveline). But I could be completely wrong.

He could be a love interest, or not. But with the different personalities I see in y head that he could have, I could still see him as a good LI. Honestly, if he is a love interest, the only reasons I could come up with for not romancing him on my first playthrough would be 1) there's another romance that seem's more important to the plot (like Alistair/Morrigan/Anders), cos I typically like to get those on my first playthrough when I don't know what's going to happen. Or 2) If I play a mage - I like to keep my LI in my party at all times, and if I play a mage, I don't really need two mages.

Usually yes,and mostly because plot driven romance options that are usually harder to miss. :P I can't really say for sure if BE is going to be a LI though, until all  companions are revealed. But considering that they usually go for more diverse romance options, him being an elf would make him a possible option.I like that he is the extreme opposite from Vivienne look-wise,I mean he looks rather simple and practical, and I expect his views on magic and the circle system to be different as well.I love it when our companions have opposing views and opinions, and their banter/disagreements.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if he turns out not to be an LI at all. It would be funny as hell too if all the people complaining about how he was bald, liked him, and then complained they didn't get to romance him. xD

Then again, they have only revealed one male, which is probaly not romanceable (Varric). So the odds are on our favour for BE being LI. I sure hope so.

^ Especially when another of the male companions is supposedly the Iron Bull. I don't really think they want to go down that path.

(remember *that* Sten fanfiction)

I wouldn't complain at all if they made Iron Bull an LI. It would make for an interesting romance path, at the very least.

Since we can play as a Qunari we will almost certainly be seeing Qunari/non-Qunari pairings between our PC and the other LI's anyway, so why not?

I don't know about you guys, but I really want to see this dude in the next gameplay thingy (if there is another.)

He better be a LI or there shall be Nug blood spilt on my DA sacrifical altar.

I do admit that I'm not crazy about the baldness, so I hope they get hair.

If not, they will still be violated. ;)

That's true, I'd forgotten about the Inquisitor possibly being qunari.

I suppose it's because the Bull strikes me as a raucous Wrex-type character (or maybe Oghren), not really someone for whom it'd be easy to write a romantic plot.

I know I will like Dorian/Nosforelftu and Sera/Femgolas. They've batted 1000 with the Elves.

Jason Statham.

You think you're the main character; but it's acutely this guy.

Hey, what if the elven mage is a dreamer: one of the "somniari", like Feynriel? I can imagine he'd be of great importance to the Inquisition if he was.

Maybe he's a sleep-walker.

Mind = blown.

If BEF is a somnari, that would make sense if he had been a magister.

Weren't the Altus class of magisters descended from the dreamers? I forget now.

(Though it'd be weird if an elf was an Altus. Unless he's half-elf? Or do half-elves turn out looking human?)

Yeah, the Altus are descended from the original Tevinter dreamers.  "Half-elves" are always human.  I really doubt Altus elf magisters exist.  But dreamers existed among the Dalish and presumably the ancient elves, so an elven dreamer isn't out of the question.  If the plot of DA:I turns out to have something to do with dreamers (which I thought the recent comics hinted at) having a dreamer companion would be both relevant and useful.

Atlus elf magisters.

Giant pointy-eared robots controlled by Cerberus that can now also wield magic?

What have we created.

Yes,The elves of Arlathan in particular, were very talented in somniari arts, and far more common than the original Tevinter dreamers. So it's more probable for an elf to have this ability,Fenryiel had elven blood after all.

I rather like the notion of the BEM being a dreamer. If he turns out to be a magister,it would make more sense, considering that "Dreamers" are almost  revered in Tevinter for their powers.

I'm not holding my breath for him to turn out to be a magister (I just don't wanna build my hopes up), but that *could* help explain how he came to be a magister if that was the case.  Right or wrong, it's fun to think about.

I agree there are so many possibilities for banter and interaction between a magister and the rest of the party!Personally I'd like it if we're introduced into a less "villainous" aspect of the Tevinter Imperium in the game.

Even if BEM isn't a magister (and at this point I honestly don't know what to think), there's also this other mysterious fellow, though we haven't seen any indication that he's actually a companion:

I have nothing to contribute to this conversation, but every time I see the title of this thread, I imagine it being read like "Who's that Pokemon?!"

I imagine if anything, we'll have 2-3 mages in our party for varying magic styles, so it's possible he's a mage too, though, this guy gives me more of a rogueish vibe.

Can we just accept that he's the Maker and end this? He's clearly the Maker and no amount of in-game confirmation otherwise will ever change my mind, nor should it alter yours.

Roll a female Inquisitor, name her Andraste and gain access to exclusive romance content,
