Dismissing a character based on looks?
GG people in this thread
Yes.

First of all, the talent prevail over race in Tevinter, so if a person indicates magical abilities, he can climb the social ladder.
Secondly - does Cassandra looks we know her now in that concept-art? Not at all, so don't fret yet.
Not everyone is going to be an LI guys >.>
Don't tell BSN that. Remember, everyone has to be attractive in every aspect to be a fulfilling romance. Plus without the romance you can't get the meaningful development!
And then people wonder why I don't take their "cater to me" mindset and demands of so called "equality" seriously.

People just aren't used to the idea of a bald character. Hell, one of the best elf face options in DAO to start off with, is the bald male. It just looks aesthetically pleasing. Sure it would be nice if they kept the hair a bit, but they don't want the characters to all look alike either.
He looks like the elven man in the concept art.
Whether he's a love interest or not I'm sure we'll love him in the end. I don't know about you guys, but I hated both Ogrhen and Merrill when I first met them but now I'm madly affectionate for both.
I think the writer's are talented enough to make us adore or at the very least appreciate anyone in the end. And if he is a LI he'll definitely have severely devoted fans who threaten to chop people's heads off for making fun of him for being bald.
What's this? Forumites fussing over a male character's physical appearance?!
Oh, BSN. You never cease to surprise me.
I must have missed something before because I don't understand why it matters if he's male or not????
And yeah, I'm sure he'll grow on people, of course. There's no doubt about that.
No
yes
If mustache guy is a mage I'll probably use him instead of bald elf (assuming he's also a mage)
The Inquisition isn't fond of bald elves.

I bet people are still shocked about -

He will be the Anders spirit healer replacement, and only healer....dun dun dunnnnn
It's fine if he really does look like Nosferatu
It's only an issue if my options for LI are between him and someone else I'm not into (like Varric).
When seeing a new character, the discussion immediately veers off towards how shaggable they are.
BSN, straight to the important parts.
HA!
It's the ugly , bald elf dude . Please let's not have him as a LI .
Oh look! Another of Pink's comments about how much she likes to whine!
CELLASSEY!
Specially 'ASSEY!'.
And don't start fights with me. Everyone's entitled to their opinions, yes? I guess I'm entitled to my opinion of you as well.

Noone's whining .Just an opinion pay attention sweetie.
I for one am praying fervently to the Maker that he is an LI.
As a fallback, I'll be sacrificing nugs on my DA altar.
Rats. The ugly bald elf guy. I was hoping they left him on the cutting room floor.
Oh well.

Well, it takes all types
I've no doubt some do find him attractive, just not exactly a conventionally attractive fellow, not even a little bit. Nosferatu look isn't what most people think of when they think "attractive."
Again, just hoping if he is a LI, that I'll at least find the other one appealing. That's all I'm hoping! OR -- that he will look more akin to the War Room concept art, or even the scene with Sera, Cass, and the Grey Warden at the pub.

I think the difference there is that Jack has a really beautiful face. She's a gorgeous woman who happens to be bald.
Meanwhile the elf has a face shaped like a shoe with an unbelievably prominent chin, sunken eyes, pallid skin. The war room picture put him more on a level of 'attractive man who happens to be bald' but the other artwork isn't exactly flattering.

Well, we know nothing about him except looks, so the discussion is inherently superficial

You were whining.
