When seeing a new character, the discussion immediately veers off towards how shaggable they are.

I am on topic and your post is relevant towards your whining of a character you know nothing about, yet ideally though - is uninterested because of a look, which is fine, but don't go spewing bullshit like "make it only for M/M".  Word though, stay classy.

Well, it takes all types I've no doubt some do find him attractive, just not exactly a conventionally attractive fellow, not even a little bit. Nosferatu look isn't what most people think of when they think "attractive."

 

Again, just hoping if he is a LI, that I'll at least find the other one appealing. That's all I'm hoping! OR -- that he will look more akin to the War Room concept art, or even the scene with Sera, Cass, and the Grey Warden at the pub.

 

It's not that I find him attractive, per se. I certainly don't find him ugly, and I'm scratching my head at the Nosferatu comparisons, but if I passed him on the street, I would definitely do a double take. Here's why:

 

He looks interesting. His style, his lack of hair, and his sharp features draw me in and want to get to know him. And while I don't find him attractive, I am attracted to him. I could see myself being satisfied by his romance arc (if there even is one).

 

My post was kind of a joke, but I really do want him as a love interest. I could see him and my mage getting along well. If they keep him the way he looks in the mountain concept art, awesome. But, I did like his look in the war room concept art, so either would be fine with me.

My Inquisitors would go for just about anyone else.

Maybe that's not Dorian or Ser Smuggins. Maybe Fenris shaved his head, then found himself trapped in the Fade, and the only way he would be let free is if he agreed to renounce his hatred of mages and imbue himself with magical powers! What, it could happen...

 

On a more serious note, what do you think Varric's nickname is for the fellow? Baldy McSmuggins? Ser Smugs-a-lot? Elf McMuffin? Your Baldness?

 

Ah, that reminds me. I might just have to do an Inquisition run with Cullen, Smuggins, Vivienne and my Dalish mage Inquisitor. Poor Cullen. I can already see his eyes twitching, soon followed by screams, strange mumbling sounds, and a leap off the top of a mountain. Oh, didn't you know? You can climb to the top of any mountain!

I think he looks alright. He doesn't have to be appealing to everybody to be appealing to some. I don't find Varric that attractive, but it's cool if others do (and want to romance him and such).
