The ugly version was more interesting
As a skyrim player the only character that I found to be highly interesting was a bald dark elf . I'm sure many would find this charecter to be highly ugly, but to me he became one of my most favorite characters in the whole game. His personality made me laugh too.
I don't find him to be ugly either. Know why? Because he has as badass beard.
Again, it's the complete hairless-ness of this elf mage that is off-putting to me personally.

That's a a mage version of Mr David Gaider himself. It's why I was facepalming whenever someone here said bald people were inherently ugly. Talk about mean lol.
I thought the photo was suppose to be First Enchanter Orsino.

But why? Why does hair matter to you anyways? If the hairless mage is backed up with a wonderful writer (If Mr. Gaider was his writer) doesn't that count the most? Who cares about the hair for as long he is written good and have good lines.
So...a character who you don't know anything about other than the fact he's bald seems "boring"?
Yeah, go figure.
I'd suggest waiting until, I don't know, we reveal a little more about his character before you decide you know everything about him and his place in the story. For all you know, he could eventually end up being your favorite character in Inquisition.
Novel to see a male character's appearance being picked over, however. Must be because he's an elf.
You expected better of the shemlen? ![]()

I've already said that he could be a great character. We'll see soon enough. I'm simply commenting on his appearance at this point because there is nothing else to talk about.
I like beards. That's my personal taste. The bald head+ lack of facial hair + pale skin + pointy ears is just off putting to me. That's all.
So personally and aesthetically, if a character has no hair on their head, I prefer that they have facial hair to balance things out. But that can't happen since he is a DA elf.
One more time, I'm sure he will be an interesting character despite the way he looks.
Oh David Gaider, the guy who writes amazing romances, then makes fun of the people who get excited about the romances ![]()
You are still my idol, but you cut me deep! ![]()

I don't think he's making fun of people who get excited about romances, he was merely remarking that some people think that's all a character is good for.
While I'd be a little put off if one of two or so male LIs looked like the pointy chinned eld in the art people need to stop freaking out. First, we dunt know what this character looks like, the art strikes me as highly stylized. Maybe his chin will be pointed in the perfectly sexy way, and the artist exaggerated that. Maybe his concept will change completely. Fenris changed a lot through development, and many of his stages were hardly appealing.
Second, he may just not be an LI. There is plenty of room in the game for other males. Let's calm down.
I may have missed the freak out posts, but I've not seen anyone losing their sh!t yet. It's just about dissecting the latest snippet of info and being panicked over the thought of not having that "perfect" LI in the game. It's fangasming; we do it; we are fans because we love the game
There's nothing wrong with having dreamy thoughts about who your inquisitor will find true love with. That's part of the fun of speculation and anticipation. Some people get excited most about the beautiful vistas or the Orlesian ball; others wiggle from excitement over who they might share that first kiss with lol It's all part of being a fan.
Ah yes, Lord Gaider laying the smack down on the baldy-haters. Wield thy righteous staff, Lord Gaider.
Bald is beautiful. With or without pointed ears.
Though, I gotta admit, "Nosferelftu" as a moniker is starting to win me over. ![]()

I agree that would be a sad thing to witness as a writer, but I don't think anyone here (again, could be mistaken; I just woke up and haven't read the whole thread) is doing that. Mostly, at this point, you seize upon any new character and immediately begin speculating whether s/he will be a LI. This being the first male besides Varric (who's kind of "taken"), of course we're going to immediately wonder.
You expected better of the shemlen?

I was hoping that wasn't his final design. Oh, well.
Well, when ALL you have to go on is 1s video of the back of the companions head and everything you can see about it, is that it is bald people really have nothing else to talk about except to share their like or dislike of the baldness.
It's kind of hard to say "Ooooooh, what an interesting personality!!!" at this point ![]()
Anyway! Let's talk about other things other than his appearance maybe?
For example - he got kicked out of Tevinter because he was a wussy!
