That's only how I judge someones worth as a LI, not as a whole. LI should be smexy, period. That doesn't mean however that I can't be good friends with characters that aren't.

I agree. I want KainD to shake my hand, too.

Implying that physical attraction isn't relative and based on personal preference.
Yep ,if there is no physical attraction, but there is emotional bond then it's a friend. We are physical being.
I actually hope he's not a love interest, primarily because it'd mean I wouldn't be missing anything for him being male.

You don't do alternatives?

I do have to find something about a character physically attractive to want to romance him/her... even if I, personally, am not attracted to him/her. My favorite romances are Fenris, Isabela, and Zevran, and I'm not personally attracted to any of them. But I find them cute/pretty/attractive, and I can see them through the eyes of my PC.
I'm sure this guy will be a great character, well-written, someone we will fall in love with (I always praise the DA writing and characters; they are why I play the games). No one's disputing that.
But all we have to go on now are a few concept arts. Fans being fans, we are going to dissect those.
Sigh, I still wish he'd have that ponytail like in the War Room concept. Such a mysteriously handsome guy!
Anyway! Let's talk about other things other than his appearance maybe?
For example - he got kicked out of Tevinter because he was a wussy!
He's an elf. I don't imagine they'd be kicking him out of Tevinter if he was weak.
I am valiantly fighting against the urge to spam this thread with shirtless pictures of Patrick Stewart. Because that would totally be on topic.
Only if I can join in with pictures of Jason Statham, Kelly Slater, Vin Desil and Sean Connery to name but a few on my sexy baldies list.
Ahh. So he's being evaluated purely on the "Hot or Not?" scale, as to his worthiness of being in the roster?
Stay classy, people.
BSN has always been obsessed with the romance in DA and ME so it really shouldn't come as a surprise.

I heard his a former tevinter magister. I hope this character will give a much more different perspective on the mage conflict. Dragon age 2 in my opinion had too many extreme opinions on the politics of thedas. I hope this character will give us a unique view on the mage-templar conflict.

He was a Magister, and now he isn't. I say he got kicked out for not following Tevinter ways = wussy.

Dragon age 2 had a non-extreme protagonist that couldn't support any of the proposed sides, and that personally felt really bad.
If npc's are going to be all balanced and compromise loving this time, the player should only have extreme choices to balance it out, and to make people that like compromise feel the pain.

I am pretty sure elves cannot be Magisters. They're used as slaves.
Pardon me but anyone willing to defy Tevinter magisters so openly as to get kicked out, while remaining intact, seems to be a pretty ballsy person.
Yeah, his one ballsy wussy.
That's an oxymoron.Yeah, his one ballsy wussy.

I'm pretty sure there are free elves in Tevinter that own their own slaves and that can be magisters if they are strong enough.
That's an oxymoron.
I mean, what could be a reason for someone to be demoted from magister and cast out?

I don't think so myself. I feel like dragon age through the companions had very outspoken and extreme opinions. You have fenris that does not show any compromise in the mage situation and just lets his emotions guide him. On the other hand you have anders that is against anything templar. I would like an analytical companion that would tell "I hate X because of Y." In which Y is a valid non emotional guided response.
I do understand that characters with extreme opinions are going to be there, it is just that it would be nice to have an analytical companion by the inquisitor's side.

He might not be the exiled magistrate Dorian or even a former magistrate, that's just some people's speculation and basically just a bunch of assumptions based on the little information we have and that he's a mage.He was a Magister, and now he isn't. I say he got kicked out for not following Tevinter ways = wussy.
