Ad far as I know, that's just a rumour...

 

I'm almost positive it works, from experience.  Never heard it confirmed by a "numbers" person.

I get in the zone with my Shadow and then half way through a Shadow Strike I realize I've targeted a Ravager. I go all melee so I've only got 625 health and shields. At that point it's either ops pack, SS a Marauder or die.
