Yeah it's pretty gruff. It does pigeon-hole you into what kind of character you can make.

 

Sounded like a poor man's Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen) from Game of Thrones.

 

I also thought he sounded like Iain!!! It's not him, but yeah

 

Well, looks like gruff and rugged Inquisitor is the way to go. I can't imagine someone with this voice being any other way. 

 

I'm crossing my fingers that we'll get at least one more voice option. Otherwise my characters going to have to at least be in his 30s. And there aren't too many elves that can carry that voice. It's going to be tough, and really restrict my creativity in that department!

Okay but so it's confirmed then that it'll be one male VO and one female VO? I loved the voice from the trailer but I'm having a hard time picturing him as, say, an elf.

 

ML tweeted that it was "one" of the voices, but he added, "You can be a lady, too!" (not exact quote) ... which indicates to some that what he meant was, there is a guy voice and a girl voice. That's it.

That's what I thought too. Not a horribly straight forward quote though... I want answers, dangit, ANSWERS!

Same  I'm all in a tizzy, discarding all my previous ideas about my future inquisitor. It's not as fun for me to play an older character (p.s. I'm 33 so it's not age-hatin'), but if that's what they want, I guess we have no choice.

That answers the one question I had. I think that whoever this gent is-he sounds great and I look forward to either playing a gent Inquisitor, or watching hubby play one.

Cousland can't be a day over 21, yeah, but Hawke goes from 25 to 32. Wouldn't call that whelpdom myself, but maybe that's partly because I just entered that range recently.

In any case I'm thinking this dude's gotta be pushing 30 at absolute earliest. Does sound more 40ish though. Which begs the question: will each game have an older protagonist?

Whelpdom only truly ends when you exit the 'I'm a kid with a car' stage of life and start groaning as you take 30 seconds to seat yourself.

I believe I am in the process of entering this zombiehood stage of life. As was Hawke when the game ended.

What am I trying to say? Uh...I like my protagonists with experience under their belt. And...back pains...

The age ranges probably vary like in DAO, the confirmed age range for the inquisitors is somewhere inbetween 21-39 according to Laidlaw.

Not sure who the voice actor is but he does sound somewhat familiar.

Also, I bet their will be 8 different voices considering Mike Laidlaw's tweet is actually saying something rather than just noting SWTOR's 8 voice actors; I don't think this voice would fit an elf. And Gaider, challenge accepted! The BSNers will go to every lengths to find this man!

What tweet from Laidlaw are you referring to? And why couldn't that voice fit an elf? Fenris has one of the most masculine voices in DA][.

I think its oliver milburn. He voices the sage bartholomew roberts in ac black flag. Bits of his voice you can hear the inquisitor.
