Wow, I know your pain! Those noods you refer to, are most likely people that just bought the game and want to check it out. Bad idea! There's quite a huge learning curve with this game. We all had to play Bronze, Silver and Gold - before - we got into Platinum.
I play a lot of Platinum, and I typically perform best on Platinum, because I am very cautious and focussed. You will not have to carry me, don't worry. The only thing I like to point out, is that I rarely go "Unknown/unknown." I just like to know what I'm getting into, so I can plan accordingly.
