BSN still feels like the right name for the forums. But if I have to pick a new one I have to admit (with a bit of shame) that I'm partial to Scuttlebutters.
What's in a name? What do you want? (Forumite? TBF? Bio___? BWF? Etc)

How is everyone going to feel about that name when there isn't anything to scuttlebutt about at that time?

Too long, needs to be shorter.

Considering that whole "toxic forum" image we've had in the past, making us the "butt" of the Internet, I'm not sure creating a nickname also involving the word "butt" is really a positive, fresh change to move forward with.
But maybe I'm being too prudish about it. I suppose I could say it with a whimsical state of mind. I just get more of a feeling of all the rest of the Internet pointing and laughing at us with that moniker, though.
Not that they aren't likely already doing that, I'm sure. LOL

I don't mind scuttlebutt in its original meaning, but using it as a label for us...it sounds like we don't know how to clean ourselves when using the toilet.

that could be fun in it's own right, just imagine the looks on people's faces.
I vote ether stick with BSNers, or go with scuttlebutters,, butters for short.

It just reminds me of the "butter face" conversation that Zevran has with Leliana, which then leads to Simpsons references..idk.

Hey guys,
I was in a thread and a player pointed out there isn't an endearing name to replace "BSN'ers" or anything of the sort. So I thought I'd go ahead and start a topic to see if anyone was interested in discussing a moniker to call one another. Good for me to have a moniker for you guys too when I'm singing your praises (which I have done quite a bit in the past week or so). Plus I like solidarity. Of course, I'm sure you will all organically come up with things as time progresses etc. Or not!But the thread is here anyway if you want to use it
It's midnight and I don't want to answer my emails. This sounds more fun.
Cheers,
Jess

Legacy - BSNers, to use in retrospect
Neutral - TBFers (The Bioware Forum), to use in the Internet at large
Positive - BFFs (Bioware Forum Frequenters), to use within TBF about those who are particularly frequent and prominent posters, the community itself, etc

What about "Biotes" (rhymes with "zygotes")? Since we're Canadian, it works in our second official language, too:
biote: Représente la somme de la faune et de la flore vivant dans une région donnée (represents the total flora and fauna living in a given region)
Sad but true: this was significantly better than the other "gems" free word association brought me: WareBears, WareWolves... (shudder)
I do think "Scuttlebutters" is a mouthful, its natural devolution over time being "Butts". I'm not sure I'd like being called a "Butt" again (flashback to junior high...more shuddering).
