It didn't win! I just had to say something and it's a cute name and I'm trying out different things to see what sticks
We'll keep working on it. Like I said, it'll be organic. Next time, I'll try BFFs. Internally, we've been saying BWFers - which frankly I think sounds like a sports team lol. I may be biased and dorky, but I tend to like nick names that sound like clever monikers like "Mouseketeer".
We have a rowing team (it's a kind of specific kind called dragon boating) that BioWare employees participate in and the team name is called the "BioWarriors". So I'm fond of things like that.
So I promise, it didn't win!!!! PROMISE ![]()

Sorry about calling you out and busting your chops like that. ![]()
Following along the same lines as what you like, what about BioKeepers? Or BioWareKeepers? Or BWKeepers?
Keepers comes to mind because it's a way to tie into both of your major, modern franchises: Dragon Age and Mass Effect.
Mass Effect had The Keepers, which maintained the Citadel.
Dragon Age now has The Keep.
And y'all have decided to "keep" us around, so I guess that makes us "keepers" in your book?
(Very corny joke, I apologize).
At least it doesn't involve the word "butt", ya know? ![]()

UGH the Keepers were my favorite alien race in the whole Mass Effect universe. Sometimes I just go into the writers pit and ask them if they'll make a Hatoful Boyfriend with Keepers. They tell me to shoo and keep a broom by the door in case I wander back in.
Would I be spamming and thus violating my own site rules to cross post this thread in other forum sections, I wonder? I should be able to justify posting in off-topic but other areas... Hmm.

Good question. BUT this subforum doesn't necessarily get a lot of traffic unless someone needs help (or the few who peruse through here in case we can offer help to the seekers). I'd cross-posted the Scuttlebutters thing to the DAI Twitter thread and a few chimed up having no idea that you were looking for a new name for us.

Nugs. Just... nugs. And the BioWare devs are the nug-wranglers. And the forums is the box. From that quest. In Origins. Yeah.

To me and many others it always has been and always will be the BSN. But people can call it whatever they want. There is no need for a thread like this which implies that everyone should have one specific name and that we all must stick to it. Nothing should 'win'. Me and many of the original BSN users will keep calling it the BSN while newbies to this new forum can come and call it whatever they like. But no one should be able to decide what Bioware fans are known as here. Not even a forum mod or BioWare staff.

This topic is in the interest of the entire forum, so the more places it appears, the better, as far as I'm concerned. I don't think anyone could blame you for pinning it everywhere people can see it.
And if they do blame you, well, you're the community manager, pacify them! ![]()

Anything but Scuttlebutter's, it makes me think of bugs for some reason. Besides if chosen I can picture the response now
'BSN'ers change name to Scuttlebutter's and become butt of joke'.
I think something similar to the old name is probably the best bet.

Yep Scuttlebutter's just sounds childish. It reminds me of the time when my dog had worms and used to scuttle his butt on the ground haha.

I humbly hope that Scuttlebutters doesn't stick.

I still think of this as BSN, but some of these suggestions are cool - BioWarriors, Biowarians, BioBuddies, BFFs (BioWare Forum Frequenters). I've always liked "The Legion", and I've used it before as a group name for my characters (in addition to The Shepard Brigade) because there are so many of them. I don't care for the word "scuttlebutt" though. It sounds weird to me.
The only thing I could come up with is BFGs, because it could stand for both "BioWare Forum Gamers" and a really big gun.

I remember reading about this game on the old forums. Someone played through it and provided others in our group with commentary and screenshots, then let us vote on which options to choose. It was hilarious.

The thing is, the BSN had a catchy name. This doesn't. This is just The Bioware Forum.
I imagine BSNer is probably gonna stick even though the BSN itself isn't being used anymore.

Well that's why I said the following in my original post:
I was in a thread and a player pointed out there isn't an endearing name to replace "BSN'ers" or anything of the sort. So I thought I'd go ahead and start a topic to see if anyone was interested in discussing a moniker to call one another.... Of course, I'm sure you will all organically come up with things as time progresses etc. Or not! But the thread is here anyway if you want to use it
And I think that anyone can decide what people on here are known as, and the thread is here in case people want to use it so that the conversation isn't happening in a million different places (which I'm sure it is anyway). Like I said, it's organic and if you don't want to participate, you don't have to but other people who were using the BioBoards, BSN, and now the Forum might disagree with you and that's ok too.

I hate that they had to call those durn things nugs. Every time I go looking for images of them I have to sort through countless images of weed.
No.

BioWarians is already the term used for BioWare developers, so using it to also mean forumites may get confusing. ![]()
