I was just wondering how brilliant it would it be if you had both Varric and Ogren in your party? I love them both and imagine the banter that would go on between them. Hilarious!

So would anyone else like to see them both together or even better, have them in your party?

Well Oghren would obviously get drunk , mistook Varric for a women (no beard!) ...and do his Oghren thing.

Meaning drooling , making strange rut noises  and going all "Come on woman , I know you want a piece of Oghren."

This would lead to Varric threatening to let Bianca answer for him.

Of course Oghren would be overjoyed thinking he's finally having a dwarven ladies with no pyjama party.

Please no...not Oghren, he's so annoying...  .... Okay, I'm happy enough for them to meet up, once, I don't think they'd get along though - Varric's too cool for that smelly old dwarf. :P

I am more worried about Oghren doing things to Bianca while drunk.  That being said, I'd rather not see him in Inquisition.  Depending on your choices in previous games, he could be dead and he's just another Grey Warden even if he isn't.  There's not much of a reason for him to be involved at any point.

That is fine as long as we can say no to them the first time we meet them.

Lmao! That sounds like a pretty good conversation to me  :P

Aww, that's a bit harsh isn't it? Yeah his a drunk but a funny one lol.

Oh they could easily add a reason and I don;t expect to see them both in the next game but I was just imagining both of them together and I think some conversations they would have would be so funny.

That's fair enough, and we can do that to most characters in all the games anyway so don't see why that wouldn't be possible. But as I said above, I don't expect to see Ogran back sadly, looks like Varric is back though  :D. I just wanted to hear others ideas and thoughts if they would like this and or what they thinki they would say to each other / how they would react to each other. I think they would be pretty funny, maybe not like each other first but possibly warm up to each other by the end.

I just want at least one new dwarven party member. I love dwarves. But I don't like to see the same ones over and over.

First bolded:  Hehe, Ass chaps.

Second bolded:  Not necessarily, if he lived he was part of the gang that discovered the Architect, and dealt with intelligent darkspawn.  Also, he could have been there when you took down the mother.  Either way, these events seem rather…pivotal to what the grey wardens are doing.  Just like Nathaniel Howe was sent to re-trace your deep roads expedition route.  I would assume after such important events that any warden would be recognized by the order as at least being a tad important and would be privy to more interesting missions or duties.  We know the Grey Wardens are up to something at least (whether you let the architect live or not).  Failing that, he is an accomplished fighter (albeit a very drunk one), so maybe he will just become a great combat instructor (assuming he's not sexually harassing anything that does or does not move) for the grey wardens and you get a mere mention, if he's alive, or even have him as a special agent (assuming that's how they can work etc.).  Either way, I wouldn't be opposed to seeing him, if it's important to the plot and fits the story, but not as a companion or anything, his time is done, he's got to be one twice now.  Do miss some of his lines though  :) .

I actually think Oghren and Varric would get along nicely. They both have a healthy dislike for Orzammar politics and neither of them is very serious about anything. Oghren may be a bit (just a tiny bit) rougher around the edges, but Varric seems to have a talent of liking people despite their glaring flaws :D

That is actually a very good point. If he even does show up it may just be for one of the side quests like as you said Nathaniel Howe did. You never know. We don't even know all the characters that are involved in DA:I yet.

Exactly! Nicely put. That's part of why I think those two could get along (even if they don't at first meeting). Their both a lot a like, their both funny and have sense of humors. The main difference is Varric is slightly more with it and not a raging horny drunk lol.

I miss Sigrun.

Yeah she was a pretty good character as well. I think the chances of her coming back are most likely going to be low though.

Yeah, one hell of a fun one

Oghren was a good character in DAO, you felt like he was a complete wreck under all that toilet humor and it gave him depth.

He jumped the shark in DAA where he was all drunken toilet humor and very annoying.

I found his jokes occasionally funny in Awakening though; in Origins I only liked him for the connection with his wife, really, and found his humor style genuinely more obnoxious.

Mind you this is coming from someone who only just played DA:O/DA:A for the first time last month too, still fresh in my mind. :P

Sigrun... I grew to like Oghren more with Awakening, but I think I liked her more than him right off the bat. Dwarves have just gotten better every time. Varric > Sigrun > Oghren 2.0 > Oghren: Origins.

Utha is also cool and I suppose she technically predates Oghren though. >_>

Ugh, Oghren. He was nothing but alcohol and bad jokes.

Anyway, Oghren and Varric banter would definitely be pretty funny, admittedly. Though if Oghren does end up making a cameo appearance, I demand a Sigrun cameo, too!

The thing that really bugged me about Oghren in DAA was that his approval was totally reset for my imported Warden. I found it difficult to complete his personal quest in my first playthrough because I couldn't get his approval high enough to get the final dialogue. This added to the general frustration I had with the game's plethora of broken quest lines, like the nigh impossible to initiate Valenna personal quest. I do agree that his character took a bit of a dive in Awakenings.

As a quest hound this bothered me to no end.

Oghren was the best DAO companion and he only improved in DAA.  I would not mind him making a cameo in DAI, or even do some time as a long term NPC, but I'd rather see a new companion in his place.

But if they bring him back?  He's a lock for my first run.

If Oghren came back, he'd have to find someone in the party to flirt with, since Wynne is no longer around. I can only imagine the frosty reception he'd get from Cassandra or Vivienne. That might be worth the lulz in itself.

I never gave him much of a chance outside of Branka's quest in DAO, because in that, he kept getting pwned, and it drove me nuts. Normally I just give him gifts, chat with him a bit, and let him continue warming the bench.

In general, I don't think he and Varric would have any trouble getting along. Oghren would do all the silly crap, and Varric would chronicle it.

It seems like a good BFF match.  :P

Cool, so since you're a newbie to the Dragon Age world, how are you finding it? Sounds like you like it so far.

Now imagine seeing Ogren at a party and is now with Sigrun, that would be interesting.

Lol, the Warden and Champion can pick up the tab, they should be able to afford it  ;).

Oh yes! Oghren and Varric banter! With a dash of Sigrun on the side.

Oh yeah, didn't think of that, some one should make this :P.

Oh yeah, I remember that. I do see what you mean and I do remember thinking the same thing actually. Also when the warden and Ogren met again he seemed so happy to see you, gave you the impression the likeness would be the same as you left it, but never mind, not a massive mistake.
