Hey Madeline, thanks for asking! I'm finding both games pretty great. I don't make a habit of plugging things like this so I won't link them or anything, but if you want more in-depth statements on my thoughts (and oh god, ramblings) on the first time playing them, I did playthrough topic of Origins and I'm doing one for DA2 now as well. They're in the Story & Campaign threads. :P

But that's a lot of reading so general answer: they're quite grand!

I think I've had just about enough Oghren, after a game and an expansion, thanks. That's my limit. Ol' Belchy should be keeping an eye on his kid, anyway.  :D

I'd take more Sigrun, but I don't really think they're bringing her back.

Eh by the end of DAA Oghren is either a completely broken man with no future, or someone with a handle on his family responsibilities.

I don't think I want either Oghren in my party.

Oghren's personality was great, his banter and his story, everything. However. Oghren's combative skills were an absolute dud -- no matter how much I boosted his skills, he always died. So,

I've had enough of Oghren.

Even if I really loved Oghren (which I don't), I don't really care for the idea of repeat companions. I'm still on the fence about Varric, since he's following a new PC around. One carryover companion per new PC is the limit that I'd care for.

Please no...not Oghren, he's so annoying...  .... Okay, I'm happy enough for them to meet up, once, I don't think they'd get along though - Varric's too cool for that smelly old dwarf. :P

I agree.

I just want at least one new dwarven party member. I love dwarves. But I don't like to see the same ones over and over.

+1

The party banter would be hilarious, that's for sure.

That one. As much as Oghren, Sigrun and Varric were all of them successful companions, I'd love to see a new dwarven companion as well. However, I'm afraid that the writers won't introduce another one in Inquisition...

Ugh, please don't return Oghren.  He had has funny moments and fell down drunk seldom in Origins.  I felt like he'd had some good character development by the end of the game.  He did drink a lot and was a pervert, but also had some touching moments that I still love.

Then Awakening happened and I felt like he regressed big time.  His only really funny moments were between him and Nathaniel, but I started to find Oghren really pathetic.  Perhaps it's real life bias, but after the third time he fell over drunk in Awakening (about a 10-12 hr game,) I didn't find it funny anymore.  He was just running from his problems and straight into the bottom of a bottle.  Too many folks I know have done that and it's been devastating to their friends and family.  I can understand why the "wife n Nugget" thing didn't work out, but I felt like BioWare just took his reaction too far.

Like Kaiser, I was also mad that an imported living Warden was a stranger to him.  I've gotten to his final dialogue, but it was a royal pain to get there without gift mods.  I had to drag him around everywhere and reload just to get rep high enough.

Count me as another Sigrun fan.  Though I doubt I'll see my favorite death seeker ever again, she was still the dwarf I loved from the original games the most.  I think her and Varric would make a good team, provided Varric can deal with Sigrun's death trip.  She was awesome.

As much as I love Oghren, you have good points. I know my share of Oghrens too. Not so funny in real life.

Yes, Sigrun is badass. It's too bad we'll probably never see her again. Sheryl Chee has written most of my favorites (Oghren, Leliana, Sigrun, Velanna).

In DA:O I dragged Oghren almost everywhere, the party banter was priceless. Deep roads weren't so dark after he cracked a joke or two. He wasn't so funny in DA:A. Really, really sad. Sigrun was awesome, tho.

Varric is something new, I don't remember seeing scoundrel smart-ass dwarf before (who'd rather avoid battle). Pretty amazing idea, and it works perfectly.

I get the feeling Varric would be embarassed by Oghren, if they were together. Like Oghren might not be subtle and clever enough for his liking. And it'd be the one time I sided against Varric.

im picturing the banter with oghren and anders for this, they take shots at each other the whole time and you just cant figure out if they hate each other or are good pals
