I'm trying to get a sub 30 on Monster Mash hardcore but I always mess up the prime waves 5, 7, and 9. I do lose a gel or two on 8 due to stupidity but I digress. I just don't know when to nuke and the primes always split for me and they're never together. By the time I get them together I'm probably about 60% through the wave budget. Then whenever I do make it to wave 10, I get something stupidly retarded like targets or douche device spawns and I usually have no gels by then. I quite honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong.  :crying: I really want the sub 30. If I get it, I can be satisfied with myself. I'm not a very fast solo player by any means. Just so close to a sub 30 I can freaking smell it.

Not your fault, it's the stupid geth.
If you start wave 5 near the central ammo box by the window and face the extraction zone, you can force the double primes to spawn in the basement. On w5, the primes usually spawn together. That should usually give you a kill streak and help drain the wave budget significantly.
Do the same for w7 and force the lone prime in the basement. Hope for another kill streak. On w9, however, the primes tend to split spawn from my experience. You might want to focus on the pyros and bombers first and nuke the primes when they are together.
Wave 8 is an annoying wave for any CQC character. Save a missile if you want for w8 as there is a good chance that you'd get surrounded by pyros, hunters and bombers. An easy kill streak is possible that way.

Also, which hammer are you speccing into - biotic or electric?

You shouldn't nuke wave 7, you can take down lonely Primes very quickly with Electric and Biotic hammer.

I used 2 missiles in wave 5, 3 in wave 9, one in wave 10.

Use Electric hammer for mooks, it's very handy when you're surrounded (AOE fire prime). Use Biotic hammer on Primes only.

This is the build I used. Hammer everything, the Striker is useless.

Video -- Only in the final waves I realised how useful the running heavy melee is.

Yeah, kaxas, I watched your video and used your build. I think I'm just getting unlucky with the spawns. I'm doing the running heavy melee on every wave cause I know with the melee bonus, I can ohk rocket troopers and regular troopers. Just wish I could ohk hunters.

@bgsam, I'm using both hammers. I get a decent recharge time on both of them. I use the electric hammer for mooks and for staggering them when I get surrounded, and for primes, use electric hammer for shields and the BH for armor. I take his ass down pretty quick using that strategy. Combo for the first charge, heavy final. That's for both hammers.

I've found the second charge on Biotic Hammer to be pointless, as long as you use the 3 hit combo for both Electric charges and the single Biotic charge, the second charge isn't needed for Primes. Putting 3 in the passives and taking the extra radius on Electric Hammer rank 6 has worked better for me.
I used this build

Running heavy melee is only good for activating Rage, IMO, as Electric Hammer does more damage and can be spammed pretty much none stop. It only takes 1 running heavy melee kill to activate rage regardless of fitness evos.

I agree with kaxas on missile use.
