I wish we could choose where we buy games.
It's a little annoying having to have Steam, Origin and Uplay installed on my computer just to play one or two games each.

Indeed. It gets to the point where I'd rather goto Best Buy.

I don't care about which companies have more sales. All I care about is being able the buy the same then play it offline anytime I want without 24 hours check or server connection constantly.

I doubt that matters anymore for you will still need those applications to play at least some of the games.

Pretty much this, as I remember back with StarCraft 2 and its first expansion I bought them physically since I had gift cards and all it did was pretty much install the installer and then have the game download.

Same also happened even further back when I first decided to try out Mount and Blade Warband, the CD was just an installer for Steam.

It's an EA game.  EA games are distributed on Origin.  If any of you expect or even demand for it to come out on Steam, I think that you will be sorely disappointed.

Hope not because it is a deal breaker for me. I do not buy any games that require steam. Having to say goodby to Fallout and Elder scrolls was tough but won't support a platform or companies that force it upon using customers. It is humorous the cheap games on amazon always have steam drm even within a few months of release. Thought it was supposed to help sales with 30 million userbase.

I understand what you are saying, but unless you are going to buy the game on GoG there is some background application to work as DRM, at least with Steam and Origin they aren't hidden in the background like those hidden Rootkits.

Now would you be against what Origin is doing for older games (and I hope Dragon Age: Inquisition if there isn't an online component) that Origin isn't required to run the game just to download it? I found out that Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect 1, and Mass Effect 2 are all playable without Origin installed and you only need to sign in once to verify your installation.

Wouldn't it be spyware for everyone even on Steam? Since I have read articles that people are talking about how they couldn't delete a non-steam (or steam game file) off their computer because the Steam Service had it open or the VAC would report the DNS of any web activity while its active?

I actually ran into this, was helping a friend clean up their computer, and an old game wouldn't delete because it was being used by steam. Now, I don't know if the game was actually added to steam, but once steam was turned off it deleted.

on topic: I think it will probably be like most or EA's new releases and be origin only even if you buy a physical copy.
