From all the awesome video and plot hints about ME2, being a darker story than the first, it really does appear to be leaning towards a Renegade Shepard rather than Paragon. Which is cool.
Would love a REASON to be renegade rather than just the joy of doing it. The latest trailer released played a heavy emphasis on get it done at all costs. Kicking people through windows, interrupting dialogue.
It looks like it is going to be incredible... As a player who has a difficult time playing an evil character. I hope this one really gives me a reason to go full Renegade.

Marketing has a singular focus, they don't like to split the protagonists personality and break up the marketing. The marketing isn't indicative of what may or may not be preferred (if at all) within game. It is darker and some may be more inclined to act in a more rough way, but whatever.

*soft chuckle* My understanding is that a Default Shepard build will come from a storyline where the Council was NOT saved, and certain other choices were made of a Renegade Nature.
It would also 'appear' that many Reviewers are exploring the 'Darker' paths.
This is not representing what would happen if/when you import a Shepard who followed a Paragon path or who though renegade saved the council.
This Like the choice to/not to Show a Female Shepard is a choice entirely made by the reviewers (as far as I personally know).
