This is my first post and i apolagise if this is in the wrong topic area.

Hello everyone

My query is that i would LOVE to run around with my own party rather than having a single character. i find the characters that solo best to be the most boring characters and i HATE multi classing. i like to have pure wizards fighters rogues etc. ive played Balders gate 2 shadows of amn and the expansions. ive just completed icewindale 2 (which i found was my favourite  out of the 3 games due to having a full custom party). now id like to have a full custom party on Neverwinter.

if there are any mods which allow this can some kind elf out there please link it for me.

TLDR? i want a custom party of more than 1 character on neverwinter nights 1 thanks

I asked the same question years ago when I first played NWN. No, you can't control a party in NWN. You can have a henchman or two, depending on the module, or you can play on a Persistant World, like a mini-MMO, in which other players can fill out the party.

Part of the fun of NWN is the many possible combinations of classes to make a build. Because they are both based on the AD&D 3.0 rules, multiclassing in NWN is similar to Icewind Dale II, where multiclassing doesn't weaken the character like it did in Baldur's gate, which used the AD&D 2.0 rules.

I got used to controlling just one character, and I have had a blast playing NWN for all these years, and so will you.

If you have questions about making a good build, you can ask them here, or in the NWN Epic Character Builders Guild forums.

No BG/NWN2 style party control is the only glaring failure in an otherwise great game for me.  You can get most of the way there though using OHS.  One, if not the best NWN mods around.

Only downside is you can't directly control them in game apart from the usual henchmen stop, guard me, attack commands etc.  They do a generic auto level up when your PC does so you sometimes have to do a little leg work if you're trying to get a specific, non generic build going for them.  But being able to do that, change the leader of the party to one of the other characters, take the party from one module to the next etc are all really cool features.  It doesn't even get in the way of henchies added by a module.

Very highly recommended.

NWN2, on the other hand, has the Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale style of full party control.  (And optionally also Icewind Dale-style party creation with the Storm of Zehir expansion.)
