If, and i say IF they go the playersexual route (i'd prefer that tbh), i'd like the romanced characters to react differently to a female and male inquisitor and not having the exact same lines and actions. Like someone else said, the partner giving a flower to femInquisitor and not to manInquisitor and etc.

I know it probably requires a lot of work, I was just throwing out an idea. It would be v nice. :D

But I like flowers.

It happened in Dragon Age 2, so I don't see why not for Inquisition.

The thing that sticks out and slightly annoys me with the DA:II romances has to be Anders's romance with a female Hawke, he never mentions Karl being anything more than a friend, yet if Hawke is male, he will mention being in love with Karl before they parted ways, I think he even states he was his 'first'. Why couldn't he have had the same past experience when with a female Hawke? Why is he suddenly just a friend and nothing more? As a heterosexual woman, I would not have been put off in the slightest knowing one of his past relationships was with another man.

I must admit, I felt a tad disappointed romancing Anders as a female Hawke and not getting just that small titbit of information, that shines just a hint of light onto his character before his decent into a crazy mage terrorist.

So, I'm all for romanced characters reacting differently to a female and male Inquisitor, hell, I'd really welcome entirely different romance scenes with the same LI depending on the gender you chose, but not at the cost of losing some of their character development.

I don't care how many options there are, so long as the available options are interesting, well-written, and the romance arcs aid in the character development of both the Inquisitor and whomever the romance interest is.

Having said that...based only on the small amount of information that has been released so far, Sera or Vivienne sound interesting. That is of course assuming first that they are even love interests, and secondly that they won't despise my ruthless Inquisitor. (I'm using Stannis Baratheon as a loose inspiration for him)

Your going to need a redhead LI ;)

Quote won't work. Ah well. LI based on Stannis Baratheon would work better than Theon Greyjoy.

^Which is why DA2 should never have had a time-span of 10 years. There is absolutely no difference to the story or characters if you made it 3 or heck even just a year long.

Especially to the poor Dude who's been waiting 3 years to see the Viscount.

Yeeeeeesssss I would absolutely love this. Just small little changes that remind you your LI recognizes your gender. Not so much types of gifts but dialogue. Maybe they're easier to romance with one gender but noticeably more difficult (yet still doable) with the opposite.

I had NO idea that dialogue wasn't there with female Hawke. What a waste!

I'm okay with this (though I prefer the character treat the PC the same, regardless of gender), but I don't know about that example; I know some men who would love and do love receiving flowers from their significant others. Let's try not to gender things like that. Wouldn't most of us female persons here on the BSN be just as overjoyed to receive an xbox/PS/PC game for V-day than a simple box of chocolates or flowers? It's about knowing your partner's personality, not just relying on gender tropes.

Let the gender differences be based on real, substantive stuff, like Merrill bringing up children with M!Hawke but not with F!Hawke. And by children, she meant biological children, and the reason she brought it up is because she wanted M!Hawke to know that her clan would not accept their children. That is a very meaningful conversation to have with a partner, and one that wouldn't make sense with F!Hawke, since she and Merrill cannot biologically produce children.

Hang the **** on. If my male Inquisitor can't have a flower, then what is an appropriate gift between boyfriends? A steak? A copy of Die Hard?

:o I read that too quickly and thought it read xbox/ps as in the entire console.

If a man gave me a brand new console for a small holiday like V-day, it'd be straight to the aisle for us.

It broke my heart that Merrill and my Hawke couldn't produce pure elven children. :( I always want to please my women.

I want to see more domestic situations like this. If Cassandra is a LI, it would be interesting to see how she feels about having kids with my dwarf Inquisitor (or another non-human race), who is also an infidel (by Chantry standards).

That's an interesting thought, but then again, kids might not even enter into the equation for Cassandra (or insert any character).

 Aaaaaaaaahh... I can just imagine Alistair giving a male Warden a juicy steak in that scene instead of a flower. With the romantic music and everything.

My Warden would have accepted it... so long as Alistair actually acknowledged his feelings  :crying:

I know! How about gender-based minigames?

Male Inquisitors can go hunting and play card games with the other male members of the squad while Lady Inquisitor has a rhythm-based dishwashing game and a childbirth game where she has to try not to die from various complications.

Fem Inquisitor would rather go shopping than do the dishes , with some good company of course .

  • Leliana: You are very beautiful Morrigan.
  • Morrigan: Tell me something I do not know.
  • Leliana: But you always dress in such rags. It suits you I suppose. A little tear here, a little rip there to show some skin. I understand.
  • Morrigan: You understand I lived in a forest, I hope?
  • Leliana: Maybe we could get you in a nice dress one day. Silk. No, maybe velvet. Velvet is heavier, better to guard against the cold in Ferelden. Dark red velvet, yes. With gold embroidery. It should be cut low in the front of course, we don't want to hide your features.
  • Morrigan: Stop looking at my breasts like that. 'Tis most disturbing!
  • Leliana: You don't think so? And if it's cut low in the front we must put your hair up to show off that lovely neck.
  • Morrigan: You are insane. I would sooner let Alistair dress me.
  • Leliana: It'll be fun, I promise! We'll get some shoes too! Ah, shoes! We could go shopping together!

Well, if two of our love interests are Cassandra and Vivienne I am going to hope that someone releases a mod to make them look a bit more palatable. Don't get me wrong though! I loved Isabella in DA II. The darker the berry the sweeter the juice, right?

...buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut

The pictures and images I have seen of both of them just make me go "yeeeeeesh." I would like to see some non-companion romance options as well like what we saw in Mass Effect. You know, options are always good.

Vivienne has one of the prettier models I've seen in a game (from her character kit). Though, I am gay as sin, so I might not be the best judge.

I think both Viv and Cass are hot, but have to add the caveat, similar to pallascedar, that I romantically dig dudes. Also, that thing about the dark berries is kinda weird. Maybe keep that bit to yourself.
